Z-tube & K&N engine sound?

After reading a number of posts I decided to install the Z-tube and K&N drop in filter to keep things simple. Based on peoples reviews, I was under the impression the car would roar significantly louder (a very noticeable engine growl!) when accelerating above 3500rpm, however I only hear it slightly. Does this sound right to you all?

Don’t get me wrong it is somewhat noticeable; however I found it very subtle based on my expectations. However this could be the fact that our exhaust just roars when we hit the gas drowning out the intake mod. I’m assuming it must be significantly and very noticeably louder with the pop charger right?

I know on other cars (based on a buddy’s 97 Prelude) to get an increase in engine growl you have to modify your stock airbox (ie. Drill extra holes) w/K&N drop in filter, but I thought our stock air box did not need such a cheap mod.

Thoughts..

Thanks!

It's gotten pretty loud for me, I installed the Ztube first, then the P/C each time the WOT got louder

If you have some 19s that you want to sell... let me know

Does intake void any warranties?

I heard it won't void warrany because the K&N is like a direct OEM replacement.

As for the z-tube, it is an OEM Nissan part.

Drilling holes not such a good idea- if you want a real roar (too much for my tastes) and a whistle, add the JWT PC. I'll sell you mine- PM me if you like- I live in Ontario, Canada.

Cheers,
Derek
