start up question

every morning i start up my 05 6mt g35 coupe and as soon as i let go of the clutch the rpm drops and theres a sound like the clutch is grabbing onto something....and sometimes i clutch in again and let go and it happens again...but when i do clutch in i dont hear any weird noise ? is this normal and i only have 19k on it thanks for the help.

can you describe the noise... does it sound like chatter.. if so, its normal.

a video would likely be the most helpful tool to see if there is anything wrong

It's your clutch slipping and grabbing on the flywheel.... This is normal... Even if you're in neutral, when you let go the clutch, it will grab and spin with the flywheel!

But if you get weird noise, maybe you have a worn clutch bearing...

Take the video and upload it to youtube or something and provide the link. That would likely be the easiest, that or like photobucket.

yup its normal, like others have said if theres weird sounds besides chatter i would be worried. watch your rpms even at idle, clutching in and out will put some extra load on the engine even if you arnt in gear

You start the car with your foot on the clutch, flywheel rotates w/ engine. Small amount of power goes through bearings and causes clutch to spin a bit, but not much. You let off the pedal (in neutral) and the clutch meets the spinning flywheel, NOISE!

Normal.

Edit: Holy Crap 19k miles! Nice. I bought mine with 25k and thought I had it low.
