Manumatic right? anyways normal driving it shifts fine except when stopping seems to go back into 1st gear kind of hard sometimes is that normal?

also when I am getting on it and shifting like 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th it seems kinda slow and almost jerky?

Since I installed my Grounding kit, my shifts are fast and smooth!

You pretty much have to be almost at a complete stop to go from 2nd to 1st without hitch

Mine shifts fine... you're likely shifting to early/too late. Once you get the timing down it'll be smooth as silk. Even going from 2nd to 1st is smooth as can be once you figure out the correct timing. People make a big deal about down shifting from 2nd to 1st all the time, but it's not that big of a deal in reality. You'll be moving mighty slow, but still moving. Roughly 5-10mph.

I saw a post about shifting in autos a couple weeks ago. Someone said they just shift down all the gears except from 2nd to 1st, they let the car do. Thats what I've started doing, much smoother. And yea, mine sometimes jerks when gunning it, but I think thats normal.

Ground wires and a shift kit will make that 5AT a monster in manumatic.

Member SxExCx makes a custom grounding kit, PM him for details. A grounding kit is not hard to install as long as you know all of the grounding points.

+1. Smooth shifts under normal driving, and fast agressive shifts when driving spirited.

So the pause between 2nd and 1st is normal? I have noticed that if I manually shift from 2nd to 1st (around 15mph or so) then go to accelerate there is a delay of a good 1.5-2 seconds. I usually try to stay in 2nd, but the few times I drop down to 1st I get that annoying pause.

That's normal for this tranny. It's a short gear as it is. Really not necessary to do that. Stay in 2nd and get on it like you stole it. It'll go.
