Window Issue Need help ASAP

Well my windows have been working fine until today ! Usually i hold down the unlock button on my key to unlock the door and roll windows down to let the heat out because im in houston lol. After the heat is out I'd roll them back up. The passenger side was able to roll up fine but the driver side just rattle when I try to move it up. HELP !!!?? Is it the motor going bad?

Try opening the door panel to make sure it isn't jammed. Does the window motor make noise? If so it could be jammed, if not.. your motor died and you'll need a replacement.

Yea when I try to roll the windows up it makes a noise. I guess motor isn't dead. I heard if you bang on the door and hold the switch to open it it will roll back up? Is that true?

This is a know issue for the coupes. The windows have guilds that they travel along. The problem is that with normal ware and tear these guild get out of whack. You use the driver door a lot more than the passenger thats why you here about the driver side having issues more than the passenger. Like 035XG35 said.... take the door panel off and try to see where the window is being held up. Usually you need to just give it a good tug and pull and re-tighten the guilds and your good to go.

hope this helps.

Funny, this just happened to me also but on the passenger side window. I banged on the door and it worked. Did some research and heard some people didn't have to replace the motor until after a year since it started malfunctioning. I banged on my passenger door and now the window is back up... not even sure if I want to even put it down anymore (especially all the way down, where I can pull it up)

Good luck!

PS: I also found a good thread for a DIY to replace motor. I used the search...

Yea. Gonna open it all up and check it out. I'm sure it's just off track is all or jammed. Infiniti really needs to do something about this. It's really not about the money it's more about the frustration you know?

Not just G's. Many Coupes have problems with doors. I've had to take apart my fair share of the doors.

Sounds like this is a common problem. Mine is a '04 Coupe. My problem is not the motor. Anyone know what part has to be replaced most of the time? Is it the rubber track? Part numbers?

I doubt t's the Window regulator - metal part is usually not the problem.
