Angry Trunk Latch wont open!

I have a 2004 g35 coupe. recently my trunk latch button on the key fob didnt work so i then went to the switch on the dash n that didnt work either. So i figured it was the accuator in the trunk latch so i replaced the entire latch assem but still no luck. I back tracked and checked out the fuses both under the drivers side dash and also under the hood in the battery area. All fuses work but replaced all the 10's n 15's to make sure. Nothing. Im wondering if this is common?? im thinking now that a possible short to ground somewhere? All other electrical components operate correctly besides this latch. The car didnt have any work done too it prevously so i can rule this out. any ideas or advace would help. Thanks

Check the glove box for an on-off switch, the sedans have one, maybe the coupes do too

I had the same problem and found the wires for the latch and light were both split. The harness from the body to the trunk lid is the issue the wires rub and end up breaking from the repeated opening/closing of the trunk. You are going to need to cut the rubber harness protector open, on the right side of the trunk, and find and resplice the wires.

Its an easy replacement to fix the solenoid actuator if thats what it is.... (2) 10mm bolts and a electrical connector.
