1- THIS IS A SIMPLE HOLE SAW (SIZE 1 7/8 INCH) THAT YOU CAN BUY FROM MOST HARDWARE STORE. WE GOT OURS FROM ACE HARDWARE AND IT WAS $7-11

2- THIS IS HOW YOUR VALVE COVER LOOKS WHEN YOU TAKE IT OFF OF YOUR ENGINE

NOTE PICTURE SHOWN MOST LEFT SPARK PLUG HOLE DRILLED.

3- WARNING “PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE BAFFLE PLATE” WARNING

4- POSITION THE HOLE-SAW CONCENTRIC TO SPARKPLUG HOLE AND DRILL BAFFLE PLATE SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY.

5- YOU WILL ONLY NEED TO DRILL JUST ENOUGH TO DRILL THROUGH THE BAFFLE PLATE (WE CLEANED UP ALL THE DEBRIS TO SHOW YOU CLEAR PICTURE
DRILL ALL 6 POSITIONS AND CLEAN OFF DEBRIS WHEN DONE.

6- NOW YOU WILL BE ABLE TO POP OUT THE OLD O-RING GROMMET OUT OF THE VALVE COVER. PLEASE REPEAT 6 TIMES.

7- THIS IS WHAT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE WITH THE O-RING GROMMET OUT

8- USE BLACK RTV SILICONE ON TOP SIDE OF THE NEW O-RING GROMMET (WE USED CLEAR ON OUR DEMO PICTURE SO YOU CAN SEE BETTER)

9- PLACE THE NEW O-RING GASKET IN TO THE HOLE. NOW YOU ARE READY TO RE-INSTALL YOUR VALVE COVER GASKET TO YOUR ENGINE.

FOR MORE INFO PLEASE CALL R&D FACTORY

Thanks for the post CarBodyKits!

That does look like a great product, however if my engine is indeed burning oil from the stupid piston rings (as I can't see how 1qt of oil can leak from my cylinder 4 every 900 miles or so) Then even this won't help me.. right?

is there oil on the plug? if there is then you might have a valve cover leak.

OR you have a bad plug and had a misfire this time

also what year is your G.. I'm reading a lot of 03-04s buring a quart per 1k mile now x.x and yeah that would be your piston rings

^^ I have an 04 M6 (non rev-up)

There *is* oil on the plug the plug was black lol... only on the plug in cylinder 4... all the rest were fine

I'm going through 1qt every 900 miles though and the guy who changed my plugs is convinced my valve covers are not leaking... so that leaves me with the piston rings being the problem FML.... I guess I can use it as an excuse to rebuild the motor and put some goodies in there since if I just changed the engine I wouldn't be guaranteed that the new engine I put in won't burn oil either .

^ compression test that cylinder (I think some autoparts store rents out that tool, or just pay some local shop to do it) your question will be answered.

Take a good picture of your plug and post it up or email me at klumzyee@gmail.com

But black burnt plugs are usually signs of bad A&F or misfire.. at idle do you notice any vibrations?

if your valve cover is excessively leaking into the spark plug you'll notice the oil on your spark plug socket when you removed it

I left the plug with the guy that changed it... pretty much the metal coil part of the plug that screws in had oil... and the tip was demolished.... all black and covered in oil/carbon.

The car has 0 vibrations or stuttering and I have no CEL. I did replace all 6 plugs but the guy did tell me that plug will get fouled up again in no time.

it could be the seal around the spark plug tube. I would start there.

I still want to say that you're having a misfire or something if the plug looks like that..

I second this. They were very helpful. I called them and ordered the seals and valve gaskets and they had them to me in 3 days (from CA to GA).
