Angry Passenger Window/Lock switch prob

well my motor went out the other day and i pulled the motor housing apart - shot to heck and back. so i put the new on and it works for maybe 2 secs tops. then the switch housing starts clicking like crazy sometimes when i push either the window up/down or the lock button on the passenger door sometime it hits and will move the window motor and stop midway. i think the switch may be bad???

any thoughts or suggestions. seems ive replaced ever single motor in my car except for the vq35de motor - and if i have to replace it this is whats going down

any and all help is greatly appreciated!

maybe there is a short somewhere? you can try to install the motor in the other door and see if it works properly.

I plugged in my new motor. and the switch would only occasionally activate the motor. once i activate the window switch up or down - the motor would only move mono directionally. regardless of whether or not i moved the switch up or down the motor would only move one way. im sort of at a loss

Pull out of the window motor and put power directly to it from a car battery or something. If it works fine then your switches are most likely bad.

If you try it on the other door and it works then you know it is a problem with the switch or there is a short somewhere.

alright so here’s where im at. im getting full power to the down switch wire. also the ground is good. HOWEVER, the power supply (the red wire) is only getting partial power - as checked with a test light. it wont illuminate fully. any body know where to go from here. im no good at all with wiring and thanks very much for everything thus far.

Sorry, I don't have the answer to that, but what did you do to fix it? Maybe how you fixed it messed up the auto roll?

Well i pulled out the old motor. bolted up the new. cleaned the contacts on both the driver and passenger switch modules bc i was getting sticky switches on each side. & Ive found motor reset methods that SHOULD fix the problem - I just havent had the time to try it. but thankfully the window does work again so i can drive it - a week driving my SUV sucked!

Yes, I believe that is what the dealership did.
