yea i guess we have all been in the same boat at one point or another. I just did some research on this "Dr.Colorchip" from what I was able to find out it works better on darker colors. I wasn't won over on the explanation they had to "Tri-coat colors" pearl colors.

as well as other user reviews from other car forums, they all pretty much had the same thing to say works good on darker colors but not that great on pearl colors or light colors. Still doing a lot of research before jumping in to this little project
