Help!! I think my car is overheat, not sure x(

Since a few days ago it was too damn hot here in SoCal, I started noticing both of my fans were on high probably after 10-15min of driving. I never heard it that loud the 4 years i owned this 04 coupe. Even when my car was idle in the shade for about a few minutes, the fans were still on while it was 75 degree outside.

Today I drove 30 min to LAX, noticed my heat gauge went 3/4 of the way up. Had to slow down for it to idle at mid point

anyone had any idea of what's going on? much appreciate

The fans operate at 2 speeds depending on a handful of sensors. How's your coolant level in the reservoir tank? Nonexistent or way past MAX level?

Check coolant level and bleed out any possible air in the system.

Also it is more normal for the fans to kick on at idle vs. driving down the freeway (at idle there is no airflow).

If it's frequently overheating do not drive it as you can end up with a blown head gasket and warped heads (assuming that is not already what has happened).

Best of Luck!
Jason

Please, try to fix this yourself, or take it to a real shop. You are probably going to regret PB.

Have you ever serviced the cooling system before? Miles?

I suggest a coolant drain, replacing the thermostat. It's a good start. DO NOT forget to bleed. Use the lisle funnel and the FSM.
