I seriously can't believe how hard it is for some of you to wrap your heads around what comes with a DE and what comes with a revup. This should have been a two post thread...op posting the thread and the post hitting the ground....insane.

Fully convinced that as the price for owning a G drops, so do the IQ levels of those owning them.

Wow, didn't realize this was such an issue. Let me break it down for future reference.

ALL 2003-07 5AT Coupes have the VQ35DE NON revup rated at 280hp/270ft lbs torque.

ALL 2003-04 6MT Coupes have the VQ35DE NON revup rated at 280hp/270ft lbs torque.

ALL 2005-07 6MT Coupes have the REVUP version of the VQ35DE rated at 298hp/260ft lbs of torque.

Regardless of how simply you break it down, someone is gonna ask again. Someone in this very thread, I'll bet.

Question

OK, here is my question... I destroyed my engine in my Supercharged 05 Sedan 6MT (Rev-Up), and am looking for a replacement engine. How can I tell if the engines for sale are Rev-up or not? Since I have a Rev-up, I want to find another Rev-up motor to replace it with. 90+% of the time the motor resellers just know that it came out of a 05-06 G35 Sedan, but don't mention if it came from a 5AT or 6MT. If you ask, they have no clue as to what a Rev-up motor is, but will say that the motor will fit my car. Yes, I know it will fit, but is it the "correct" motor for my car...

Since all the motors are "VQ35DE" motors, is there any other engine code, etc. to designate it as a Rev-up motor if the motor has been removed from the donor car?

Thank you,

Ian
