How can I tell non rev from rev up
WEll it should not be too much of a difference since u stated it correctly... " Properly Driven 6MT" most people on;t drive it properly... hahaha Specially those who say they do....
Yes, it is totally worth to get the plenum spacer. Just to give you an idea, I have an 04 non-rev up. I went with the 5/16 plenum spacer, 350Z tube to replace the G stock intake tube, and a rev-up airbox. This combiination of of intake mods added a bit of sound and noticeable peformance gains. What I didn't know was that I would need a tune to tie it all together. My engine kept throwing a "Check Engine" light. I constantly did ECU resets, but the engine light kept coming back. It wouldn't seem that such simple mods would through a CEL. The airbox is stock from 06+ G coupes, and the Z-tube is stock from the 350Z. The only real aftermarket part was the plenum spacer. The way I see it, if my mods weren't taking in much air and making a noticeable difference, then I wouldn't be throwing a CEL light right? Not only that, I had weird issues in cruise control, but on a plus side, had more power and better gas mileage. Well I got an Osirus tune and fixed all my issues. No more weird cruise control issues. Still retained power and pretty good gas mileage. I was running very lean and this can be dangerous if the air fuel ratios are not accurate. Just expect to possible need a tune after you mod. To save money, it might be better to get all the intake/exhaust mods first and do one tune to tie everything together. Hope this helps.
Oh ya, and on a positve note...with the non rev-up, you just need the spacer. For rev-ups they need to have the MREV and spacer to get gains. Apparently the plenums are designed better or something on the non rev-up.
Good to know be for I spend more money.. I to just bought a Motordyne iOS thermal 1/2" spacer. Guess I have a non-rev up motor too.
