Anti-theft wont let me start my car

My battery got unhooked so i hooked it back on and now my car wouldnt start up. My car cranks but the car would not start. I am thinking it is my anti-theft system preventing it from happening.

Is there a way to reset the anti-theft system?

Try locking and unlocking your car door with the key.

I had to change my battery and now my car starts sometimes. Other times it just turns all the electrical panel on but the engine wont crank...you just hear a click..any idea what that might be?

Yeah electrical works.. It cranks but the car just wont start up.

Anti-theft went on if you mess with your battery because the car would think that someone is trying to steal the car. So now i have tried unlocking and locking my car manually but that still didnt work.

I don't think it disabled your remote. I think you just have to reprogram your remote. Also, when you unlock the car with the keys, it turns off the alarm.

Your key also has a chip that DISABLES the anti-theft system.

So I'm not sure if it's the alarm. Why would the alarm prevent you from starting the car if you have the key? lol

alarm / anti-theft same shlt. Once the key is in the car, the anti-theft is disabled.

Try reprogramming your remote.

1) Get in the car, lock the doors.

2) Insert the key into the ignition, DO NOT TURN IT, and remove it. Do this at least 6 times in 10 seconds...leave the ley in the 6th time you insert it.

3) The hazards will flash

4) Turn the key to "ACC"

5) Push a lock OR unlock button on your remote...the hazards will flash to indicate it picked up that signal, and that remote is programmed.

That remote is done...if you have NO MORE to program, the remove the keys, unlock the door, and open it. Try the remote, it should work fine.

IF YOU HAVE A SECOND REMOTE...the do the following:

6) After step #5, hit the unlock button on the door, then hit the lock button.

7) Now push either the lock OR unlock button on the second remote...the hazards will flash to indicate it picked up the signal, and remote #2 is programmed.

YOU CAN HAVE UP TO 4 PROGRAMMED.

Repeat #6 and #7 for any addtional remotes...whenever you're done will all remotes...remove the keys form the ignition, unlock the door and open it.

Are you sure you have the Battery hooked up correctly? Unhooking a battery doesn't do anything to the anti-theft system.. if it did we'd hear a lot more complaints. In fact unhooking the battery is the easiest method of reseting the ECU, so either A) Your battery isn't hooked up properly, or b) there's a lot more to the story then you're telling us.

Now the only problem is i cant get my car to start.

Is your car automatic? If so, check your attc fuse behind your battery.

So your battery isn't the problem since it's clicking. Possibly your starter, but doubtful. Have you checked every fuse? You'd be surprised that a little 10amp fuse can prevent a car from starting.

Nope haven't checked my fuse, ill get that check out soon.
But i doubt its my fuse..

I have just research some stuff and i think it is my fuel pump gone bad or the spark plugs.
Btw my car is only 60k miles.

But again its funny how i got home and 10 minute later went out to my car and it just died on me.
