its all personnal prefereance. each car is as different as an individual. because my G had alot of issues i got rid of it and got a 335i havent had an issue yet besides the injector recall. and the little rubber coating on the drivers door handle is pealing hear and there and the rear brake light housing hat to be fixed somethign about not getting enough voltage. other than that all ive replaced is light bulbs and oil and the floor mats.

G issues i can think of

2 transmissions the infiniti did not wont to cover either, bose ate my cd's, uneven brake pad wear wich cause the rotors to shred and have to be replaced, both front hubs, 2 window motors(probably woudl have been 4 but it was a coupe) door actuators, upper oil pan gasket started to leak, both cam position sensors and the crank angle sensor (all sensors were at different times) compression rod bushings, ball joints.

2 g35 could be completely opposite in regards to repairs as well as 2 335s it hink its hit or miss with either.

I love my G. its an 04, if I could do it again the only thing I would do different is get an 05 due to the upgrade in the interior. but iv driven both... 335 drives great and had the best engine they ever made... but i just hate bmws lol. i hate their interiors, i hate their maintence charges. they do look good fromt he outside though haha. it really just what you like and what you can afford. Both are great cars, if money is a real issue then you will be more than happy with a G

I think the tq is more to do with the forced induction the 335 being twin turbo and the c32 being supercharged. The 328 wich is almost the same engine as the 335 just lacking the twin turbos is super slow. So get a good price for the 335 and turbo it and then ur set

Yes, i know it because it was FI. I'm just saying that is the first thing he will notice going from FI to a relatively high revving NA engine.

He'll definitely notice the lost of the off the line power. I also like the german power delivery from the engine. It feels much more smoother and refined.

The engine on the 335i is great except BMW chose to use a inferior fuel pump. I'd rather have a broken radio or manually open my door then to not have my car work late at night when i'm trying to go home.

For the one that had no fuel pump issues with the 335i, you are extremely lucky. Everyone i personally know has at least replaced the fuel pump at least once and its still a huge issue on e90post.com. There lucky BMW road assistance is so good.

It was another reason i went with the g35 instead of the 335i.

ALRIGHT The G35 is a Fantastic car 280 Horsepower is beautiful on that thing.. many things you can do to mod your car man ofcourse it cant compete with the 335 TT but money wise G35 is a fantastic car, very fast, fun to mod, take my advice on this and trade it in you will not regret driving a G35 bro...good luck!

This thread is amusing. So much self loathing. But if that is how you feel, it's how you feel.

If I were in your situation and trying to save money, I would go for a G Coupe. Maintenance costs can be ghastly on a German car, and 335s are not known for their sparkling reliability. Check out the High Pressure Fuel injector problem they have...

G35 will give you sporty drive feel, reasonably luxurious interior, head turning looks, and decent power. Gas mileage is not great though.

Ever think of just refinancing your 335. If you have some $$$ to work with just pay down your loan extend the payments and you'll end up with about the same payment as a G. Also you could trade down...go with a 2006 335.

the torque curve on the 335 is orgasmic.... still though go with a G if money is issue. They are great cars and you wont be disapointed, you have your whole life to go buy a fast car. after college you can go buy something even faster and nicer then the 335... like and M3 lol. Gs are great, low maintanence, reliable, good looking, and like mentioned above fun to mod and significantly cheaper to mod

Your best bet is to get an 06'/07', they have better interiors and accessories than earlier models.
The gas mileage isn't the greatest but my personal experience with the reliability is excellent.
The 6 speed manual coupes have had some issue with oil consumption but that is not the norm from my research.
The majority do not suffer from this.
You can get the coupes used for really cheap right now too.
The engines are all the same 3.5 liter V6.
The 06'/07' 6mt have the revup engines, higher reving.

With regards to best performance mods, you're not going to get a huge hp/tq increase without going FI.
That being said it hasn't stop me from modding my exhaust and engine.
The best NA mods will be
HFCs or test pipes
aftermarket exhaust
Motordyne lower plenum & plenum spacer
ztube

You'll want to do a lot of searching on this forum for aftermarket mod info.
The forum has a lot of information and helpful people.

Wing, if you are trying to save money since college is coming up. I think you are making a good choice with getting rid of the 335. I am not sure what your payments are, but keep in mind that maintenance on BMW's are not cheap. Honestly, if you are trying to save money, go with a less luxurious vehicle so you an save in payments and maintenance. GL....

Will swap you mine even!

Seriously though if you need the cash go with the 06/07 Coupe's and don't look back. Then just make sure you restrict yourself from modding b/c once the bug starts you really won't stop.
