Selling BMW 335xi for G35c?

Hello all,
I am new to Infiniti.
During highschool, I owned a 2008 335xi... and I am now seriously considering selling my baby, due to financial needs during college. (This car is unrealistic to have as it is during highschool, let alone college)

And a car that has caught my eye is the G35 coupe. Please let me know if this is in fact a good idea!
Which year would you recommend?
Is there different engine sizes?
What mods would you recommend making?
Tell me the pros and cons, from your experience and sell me the car as if this is really the right choice for me to make. I can still financially afford the BMW but its going to make things tough once college starts... :/

Thankyou all!

That in fact is a bad idea. I love my G but if I had a 335xi I wouldnt trade it for a G lol.

But if you must, 06/07 6MT is the way to go...

There are problems, but you'll find a bunch of that info on forums (there's a thread here called "what do you hate about your g35") which you'll find a good read if you're looking for potential/common problems with the car.

Its not like I really want to do this...
I just need a solid car for the next 3-4 years with lower car payments.

If this is really not a good idea, what other cars should I look into?
Its sad, but the Beamer is going to have to go for awhile. I am sure there will be another purchase for one after college. But for now, its not affordable.

some people bought the g35 before there was a twin turbo 3 series maybe? i bought mine because i didnt want to buy a brand new bmw for 40 grand. we are sorry for making you sick because if we were in his situation we would keep the 335.

I think y'all are missing the point of what he is trying to accomplish... saving $$$. I would rather have a 335 as well but if I wanted to save money by switching to a car with a lower payment then that is what I'd do. That being said, the G35 will be less on maint costs and parts, you can take it to a Nissan dealer and have the same factory quality service done, while if you want factory service on your Bimmer you have to go to the Bimmer dealership. After having a chipped 2001 Audi S4, I know the expense of a German turbo car when things start to go south. When I sold it I went to the G35 because of reasons similar to the OP. I am very happy with my decision even though it doesn't have nearly the power or the status. Idk why people on here seem to hate their G's but seriously I think they'd bitch no matter what they drove.

Thankyou for actually understanding my situation.
Is there any other car you would recommend for a downgrade/lower payment? Or were you satisfied with your G?

Im only having this car through college in Seattle. So it doesnt concern me too much. But I still want to roll in a lil' style... hehe

Jeez, do you guys all just hate your Gs our what?
I am never buying a BMW lower then a 335. My next BMW purchase will
most likely be a m6 once my career takes off...
