Sound cuts out when playing CDs, but not when playing radio. Headunit problem?

When I play CDs in my 2004 coupe the sound occasionally cuts out when I hit a bump, or the left speaker will stop playing and sound will only come from the right speaker. It does NOT do this when I have the radio on, and only when playing CDs. Is this a headunit problem?

Also, if it is a headunit problem, what new sets of headunits do you recommend? I personally like the OEM one, but am open to new suggestions. Thanks

Its a common problem Most people replace the head unit with an aftermarket DVD screen but you would need a new double-din dash to fit it. Just do a little research and you'll understand.

Mine does the same thing and I used to drive around with a speaker out for days until I learned that all it needs is a swift smack to the side of the dash under the steering wheel works like a charm.

Thank you, the swift smack worked GREAT, it's playing perfectly normal now. I hope it lasts for a while so I don't have to shell out money to get it fixed. Thank you again.
