I'm 6' and a mere 168 pounds as well. I have to agree with the minority here and say that the seat is not comfortable. I think the right word is acceptable. I am hoping that within time the seat will break in and become more acceptable.

Quote: I love the seats, except.....it feels like there is something hard that pokes into might right leg. I think it may be the power seat controls (inside the bolster). I thought this might be normal, but does anyone else feel the same thing? I'm 5'11, 185 lbs, so I don't think it's my size.
Not "normal," but for those of us who've had issues with the seat, it's pretty much the same complaint we mostly all had, the hard-spot caused by the control pod. You didn't say if it's causing you pain, but if so, I suggest trying the TSB service - it helped me.

People also need to realize that this is not an issue of body weight or body fat. It's an issue of body geometry. It's where your hip bones settle into the seat in relation to that hard spot in the bolster. Some people are unluckier than others not because of their weight, but because of their skeletons.

Any extra weight on my body is carried all around my middle, definitely not my azz or my thighs. In fact, I've always felt that if I had more fat on my azz, it would pad me up & out of the seat bottom just enough so that my hip bone would not have pressed against that spot where it did.

I have read posts from guys a lot heavier than me who have no problems with the seat, and I'm guessing that's why.

this is the perfect reason why you should test drive a car before buying it.

My seats fit me pretty well. I love them! Maybe you guys are too fat and need to exercise a bit. Haha...just joking! Yeah, I can see how someone with a wide body can be uncomfortable.

Quote: [B]Hey everybody. I'm new to this forum, and just like everyone else I wish to find some answers here.

I have a 2003 G Coupe and I absolutely love it. The only problem that I have with it, is my seat. 80% of all times it is EXTREMELY uncomfortable.

-- First off for some reason Infiniti engineers thought that everyone's shoulder span should be no more than 10 inches long, becuase this is, leterally, how much back space you have. This tends to get very uncomfortable in rides longer than 15-20 minutes. My back is NEVER firly against the seat. It's merely against 2 curved sides of the seat.

-- Another problem is (for the lack of knowing a better way to describing this) the 2 curved parts of your seat on both sides, especially the right one, where your seat rises up , or buckets up, or whatever you wanna call it, I hope you guys understand, is impossible to move your legs around, almost. Because of a such poor support to one's body, my back often cramps up after 20 minutes or so, and sometimes my leg (right one) starts hurting.

Would anyone please tell me if you have any problems like these whatsoever or anything resembling these problems. And is there anything that can be done, like cushions, supports, so on, in order to fix this problem.

Thank you.
I did not have time to read through everything, sry if someone posted this before. But I think one have to take into consideration that Infiniti is a japanese brand, therefore, it is more specifically built for people of their size, even if Infiniti is in North America. Many Asian, like myself, live in the North America and it is jsut a matter of targetted customers.

Hope i didn't offend anyone. Jus my 0.02

I've not found the seats to be uncomfortable except when my wallet is on the edge of the bolstering and I'm around 6'2" 260lb.

Me too. The seats fit me very well (5'10" 175lbs), but is uncomfortable if I don't move my wallet a bit or take it out completely.

new 05 seats?
so i've read thru the other huge thread on this seat issue, and nobody really commented for sure if the 05's have different seats. some thought that the controls were located slightly lower, others thought that actual seat design was slightly different.

I have an 05 being built, and this seat issue is bugg'in me.

so anyone with an 05 care to comment if you've had an 03/04 or know someone who does and have been able to compare?
