I'd try disconnecting the battery for a night and then reconnect it in the morning. That's a start.

There's this little *** thingy and usually if you twist it counter-clockwise, it should lower the volume. Best of luck! n_n

Sorry, just teasing. Since it's playing at 3x the volume, wouldn't keeping it on 2 or 3 have it around 7 or 12?

Do you have an amplifier? You may have knocked the sensitivity **** on it and it went to a higher setting. Try reducing it until you do not hear noise even at the highest volume (on your headunit).

sorry for the late reply....very late reply. i work a lot!
but same night i tried taking out the amp and checking to see if there was anything wrong and i could not find anything. gave up for the night.
next morning it fixed itself......bad ***, BUT

for some reason, when i listen to a cd, if i hit even the smallest bump on the road all the audio goes to the right side of the car.......only with a cd. i have to change discs or take it out and put it back in to get it back to normal. what can it be???

I had the exact same issue with the radio going out on one side of the car(left side) when listening to a CD and fluctuation in the level of sound coming from the speakers. I took it to the dealer and they claimed I needed a new Head-unit. I hear that issues of this nature are quite a common occurrence in Bose equipped cars(not sure if yours is). Luckily I have a warranty so they replaced the head unit and the issue was fixed.

Hope this helps

Glad i purchased my extended warranty recently. Replacing audio/nav components costs an arm and maybe a leg too.
