03 coupe security system malfunction???

so i have my 03 g35 coupe... it has a keyless entry along with a security system (bought car used... but after locking car the alarm dash light blinks when set) and the issue im having is when the alarm is tripped i dont hear any type of alarm noise.... no honking nothing.... (the horn itself still works though) and the lights flash but no alarm noise...... also when the alarm is "set" and i open the trunk the alarm noise/lights dont do anything... (i thought when the trunk was opened it triggered an alarm?) any suggestions?

Do you open you trunk with your FOB? Try this: Roll your windows down, put your alarm on, wait for the alarm dash light to go off (takes about a min), reach in to unlock your door MANUALLY. If your alarm sounds, than your oem alarm is good, if it doesn't than get it checked out.

Check out this forum:

It mentions "several relays in the (IPDM E/R) with corrosion and rust removed all the relays, cleaned all the contact points and re-installed. Worked like a CHARM"

hopefully this helps you out.

i removed the BCM relay from under the hood next to the battery.... and it was connected to two other relays.. all of which were already clean of corrosion and rust..... and i also tried removing my battery terminals for 45 minutes to try and "reset" the system.... neither of which worked... any other ideas????

check this video out, click to 0:30 and he shows you about to remove the horn when locking your car and just do the opposite and you should have you horn back on.

Does the horn go off when you press the panic button?
