Unhappy Tried ECU reset, now car only clicks

So I just bought an 06 coupe, am having problems with VDC so I tried an ECU reset using the gas pedal method. After I hold the pedal down for 10 seconds, the CEL blinks, release for about 10 seconds, but when I re-press the accelerator, the light stops blinking. I'm pretty sure it is still supposed to blink, but I've tried a ton of times, with and without a watch, but I cannot keep that light blinking. Now, anytime I try to start my car, it only clicks. I've got the battery disconnected now. Please help!

Leave battery disconnected for 1hr and hold the brakes down for 30 seconds when you disconnect. Let car sit and then hook terminals back up. Are you sure your battery is in good condition or is it the original battery. With the car sitting at the dealer the battery might have lost charge so you will need to jump it. If it still just clicks when you jump then you might have an issue with starter solenoid...

The battery is in good condition. I drove it from NJ to Ohio and had to sleep in it one night. So, even when the engine was cold, it still started fine. I didn't try to start it this morning before trying the reset, but I will try leaving the battery disconnected. Hope this helps because I've still got other problems to fix with it.

Yeah if you leave your battery disconnected for a few hours it will reset the ecu also.. If it still isnt turning over it could be an issue with the battery or alternator.

It was the battery. Tried charging it, but it didn't seem to be holding a charge. Got a new one, started right up. Now I have to figure out my other problem.

What other problems are you talking about the slip/vdc/brake light. Check your brake pads and how much life you have left along with fluid levels for clutch and brake.

I see you found my other thread about the dash lights, so I'll bring this into that topic.

I had the same issue with my battery, everything worked but the battery didn't have enough juice to turn over the starter....just that clicking sound you described. It's important that you don't leave your battery disconnected for more than an hour or two max, your ECU will begin to forget why it's there.
