Exclamation Safety Concern | Lug nuts coming loose for no reason...

Hello,

I've recently noticed that my lug nuts seem to be fairly loose every time I go to remove my wheels (I do it often for various reasons) but it has literally never caused a problem so far. I just always make sure to check them and tighten them. Stupid of me, and I figure I need to ask for any knowledge on my situation and hopefully find a cause and solution. It is noticeable on my rear wheels, but I don't think the problem persists up front. Fortunately, every time they've been loose, the wheel is always still stable. I'd rather not take my chances, despite my good luck thus far.

Sup?

Thanks for your time

Were they torqued properly when installed? I forget what the manual says but mine are inbetween 95 & 100lbs and they never come loose.

Torque to 80 lb. Drive around a little bit, then retorque them again. It should be good after that.

Check on the torque every now and then if you are really worried after the steps above

Are you retorquing 50 miles after re-installing them?

I torque my lugs to 80 with my torque wrench once without the need to re-torque them, they've never come close to being lose. Do you have spacers, it's possible you have a quality issue or lugs themselves are too short....

No spacers. Possibly quality issue. Lug nuts definitely not too short.

Are wheels centerered on the hub? Do your wheels have the centering rings? Torque to 80lbs.

Sorry to change the topic a little, but how do you guys put on and take off lugs (especially painted ones) without scratching them?
