I say keep the G and put an LS Corvette/GTO motor swap in it and you can get the best of both worlds...call it a Hybrid if u will...then you can say you own both import and domestic..plus the women like the way the G's look more...i'm sure the rest of the G members can vouch me for that..

 

If you like a car, get it. Who cares what a bunch of strangers on any particular internet forum think? You're the one who will live with the benefits and consequences of your decisions day to day (assuming you're spending your own money).

Personally, I'd rather own my G with 80,000 miles on it (only have 60k currently), knowing I'm the second owner, and it was well cared for by the first owner, who only put 25,000 miles on it, than own a newer, lower mileage car that was written off for salvage at one point in its life. I know damage can be repaired, but"newer" and "lower mileage" aren't always "better".

 

See thing is, this car has been in two accidents both from the front sadly I buy cars and sell em decided to keep this one, and i recently got hit and runed, so that makes it two accidents, and let's be honest cars aren't reliable after two accidents ... You see what i'm saying?

 

In an earlier post you suggested buying a Salvaged vehicle lol.

In any case; To Each His Own. If you like the Mustang then get it. I agree with what the others have been preeching so far though - GT trim or higher only.

 

I understand now. It wasn't clear to me that your current G already had a significant accident history.

If you can obtain, repair, drive, then sell the Mustang you want at a profit or breakeven, you've lost nothing but time for trying out a car you're interested in. I'm sure you can pick up another damaged G at auction in the future if you find you made the wrong choice.

I'm not a fan of the Mustang, so I'd take a G over it any day of the week, especially a 6 cylinder...no question.

 

Its the business of buying fvcked up cars for dirt cheap, restoring (completely I would hope), then selling for profit.

 

^Yep. I work in insurance and deal with salvage all the time. Usually its not worthe the hassle of trying to repair.

I just thought it was funny that OP said his dad buys from the auction and can get good cars (salvage) but then says that cars invovled in 2+ accidents are not reliable.

Yeah test drove the GT 2011, Didn't feel as nice as a G35 coupe to be honest 410 HP for nothing. i didn't like it once again everyone is entitled to there own opinion
