Door Ticking/Brakes

Two Questions:

1. Has anyone experienced the door ticking coming near you left shoulder?

2. Brakes are squeaking on the right side, but pads look good?

Thanks,

Mike

I've not experienced the door ticking but do have the brake squealing.

I took it in to the dealer last week and they "could not duplicate customer's concerns". The service rep told me they bedded the brakes a few times and hoped that corrected the squeal. It didn't work. He also said the brakes were high performance.....yada..yada... I said if this is true then wouldn't all 4 squeal? I understand they "may" squeal because they are high performance, but why don't the other 3 squeal?? If the squealing continues, I am talking to the service manager...

Good luck!

Let me know what your service manager tells you. I too have the same problem but I am worried I "cannot duplicate the problem" while at the dealership. The rear right brakes squeal, especially noticeable during reverse or cold mornings.

Door ticking I've noticed in my coupe, It comes and goes with cold weather. It may be the seatbelt if not worn, or the window if not seated properly, or within the door.

Brake sqealing is annoying but normal on our high performance rides.

It is possible to have less than 4 brakes sqealing depending on wear, dampness, overall condition of pads, and whether they are glazed or not.

Roughing up the surfaces of the brakes and rotors is needed, as is 're-seasoning' and 'seating' of the brakes.

I usually refer to that sound as creaking, and they have services to fix that, although it has tended to come back for me.

My brakes squal alot for the first couple of miles in cold weather (it was 10F yesterday) then they stop. In warmer weather they don't squeal at all so I guess it's just the pad material that needs to warm up.

ticking noises

The ticking noises that I have are in the left corner of the window behind my left shoulder while driving. There is also another noise in the back of the car. As far as brakes, mine just got out of service and they won't replace under warranty until they go below 3 mm. They also have a service bulletin for the rattle in the back, but they do come back even after fixed. My ticking noise is worse in cold weather also. Nice car but a rattle bucket in my opinion..............

Door ticking

hey there Redline. Is it possible the ticking sound is coming from the seat belt mount rubbing on the seat. I loaded my seat up with leather conditioner and the sound I was getting went away at least temporarily.

In some instances the squealing sound people believed to be the brakes was in fact over loaded/tightened front wheel bearings......
This was a problem on the early 03-04 6MT's...
The ticking noise is common on the coupe windows....it does come and go depending on the temperature.....

I have so many little rattle/buzz/tick sounds for each season....
but they just come and go....no sense ripping the car apart for a "temporary" fix at best....
