Full Exhaust System - Help Please!

Hi All,

I was initially intending to get Stillen Headers, Motordyne Engineering ART Pipes and Motordyne Engineering Shockwave TDX V2 Cat-Back Exhaust System (with a HFC XYZ Pipe), but after reading an EPA guideline noting that the cats can not be moved downstream away from the Headers. So that rules out getting and having the ART Pipes and I'm not sure or can't decide on either having:

- Stillen Headers, Berk Technology HFC's and Stillen Cat-Back Dual Exhaust System or
- Stillen Headers, Berk Technology HFC's and Motordyne Engineering Shockwave TDX V2 Cat-Back Exhaust System or
- Stillen Headers, ? HFC's and Motordyne Engineering Shockwave TDX V2 Cat-Back Exhaust System (with a HFC XYZ Pipe)

I'm no exhaust expert, so I'm not sure if the last one will work and/or provide little benefit or make it worst. Your assistance would be much appreciated, thanks!

They all will provide decent gains with a tune so pretty much its all up to which sounds best to you. The stillen or shockwave cbe.

What is this EPA guideline you speak of? If you live in a state that uses a sniffer in your tailpipe to check emission levels, the XYZ with the HFC module will work just fine.

Don't waste you money on the headers they aren't worth the bang for the buck. Stick with MD products and you'll be super glad you did.

That's the best choice in exhaust and still be legal....^.... plus an Osiris tune.
Like Tim posted, forget the headers unless your intention is to go with forced induction then they're worth the $$!

+1 I have the berk HFC and tdx2. They sound great, I would buy it again if I were in the market.

"10. Exhaust systems
Modifications to exhaust systems are permitted,
providing the modifications do not conflict with
other requirements of this document.
On vehicles fitted with one or more catalytic
converters, all the exhaust gas must flow through
the converters at all times when a vehicle is used on
the road.
If modifying or replacing an exhaust system, make
sure that the catalytic converter(s) and any sensors
are positioned in the same exhaust flow location as
with the original system. For example, some
manufacturers put the catalytic converter close to
the exhaust manifold so that it heats up very quickly
when the vehicle is started. This enables the
converter to function almost immediately. If placed
further down the exhaust system, the converter
cannot function as quickly and will allow
uncontrolled exhaust emissions to be emitted."

That's really good to hear that the XYZ Pipe with HFC does comply with emission levels, cause I really wanted to get the ART Pipes, but can't now cause of the notes as mentioned above.

I will most likely get the Shockwave TDX V2 with the HFC add-on module for now and figure out the rest afterwards. Cheers!

If so, definitely the Shockwave has the sound.

Are the Berk's the only emission level compliant HFC's?

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty certain people pass emissions in states besides Cali with most HFC. You should probably find out from someone in Australia to know for sure how strict they are.

That sounds promising. I was just told that our cells are 200, which is less restrictive than US. Just not sure about the emission levels, but I'll just get the Berk HFC's anyways to be on the safe side. Cheers!
