I dont think you will have the same reliability, at least warranty as any of those, nor be as fast. Sure, the G may be exclusive down here in Indiana where people have no idea what I even drive, but will still look like a 30 grand car. If you spend as much on the G as you spent on the NSX, people will still notice the NSX more. Same idea as the Suburbans and the discounted H2s. Nice choices though.
Eric
I bought the G for a daily driver. I do plan on spending some $$$$ on mods but not crazy $$$$. Being that I have been street racing and racing in sanction events for over 15 years I know what to buy and what not to buy to make a G fast with minimal investment. I guess you did not notice that I have owned Ferraris, Vipers, Mustangs (also a 10 second street Mustang, Talk about crazy $$$$ and S^!T reliability) Grand Nationals, ect. I would not own a Vette period. If I won a new 06 Vette I would sell it and get a used 97 NSX for the same money. BMW has never been my cup of tea although I do like them.
As far as reliability goes Nissan, Honda, Toyata are second to none. Even with crazy Mods Japanese cars, as far as reliability goes, beat the US cars with a stick. The G like the NSX is a very well built car. From my research, if you don't FI the G you will have no reliability problems. I am a firm believer in Nitrous so I will go that route with the G35. I have said it thousands of times, if a car does not come FI from the factory do not put FI on unless you spend the money and do it right, IE new EMS rebuilt motor with proper compression ect. Problem with most people, they see 5K for a turbo kit or SC and say to them selves I can afford that, but they never spend the other money to make it right. Then they bitch when the break S^!T and call it unreliable because they turned up the boost to 12 psi. I feel confident that I will have the G35 running mid 12's in the next month or two. I will keep you all posted on the progress. Luckily I have Crawford Z shop about 10 minutes from my house here in Nashville. Doug knows his S^!T and I can't wait to get my new items I ordered yesterday.
Sure you could get a new Vette for 50K or so and run 12's with little effort, but so could the next JOE. Just think of a quiet G35 at the light next to one of the new Vette's. The Vette thinks he's quick (because the salesman that sold it said it was the fastest thing out there now). You rev your engine and the light turns green, the G35 lets the Vette go first, he spins his tires with little effort, then the G passes buy the new 06 Vette. The look on the guy's face with the Vette---PRICELESS>.
The story above has happened to me many of times racing differnt cars, in all 4 of the NSX's I have owned, my 1984 SVO mustang (4cyl, factory turbo charged with mods making 300 hp and only 2800 pounds), and will soon happen in my G35. Sure I have beaten people with my Viper, Ferrari, Grand National but you would expect that. I have had people nearly get into a fight with me because my little 6 cylinder NSX with 290 HP spanked there SC Vette, SC Mustang, ECT. Ignorance is Bliss, especially with the go fast game.

Ummm

That NSX is straight Rice.

I came really close to buying an 02 X but woke up before it was too late.

I dunno, G as a daily driver...but you want to run 12s?

Whats wrong with an M3 as a Dailydriver? or a 911?

I'm gonna go ahead and raise the BS flag on this internet showboater.
I dont know anybody that repeatedly claims they "have owned" ferraris etc - yet have a hard time forming clear sentences....

Enjoy your daily driver G35 that you'll throw $$$$ at, but not crazy $$$$ - to get it into the 12s.

Being that I went to MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and English was not my first learned written language, I would say I am doing all right for my self. You sound like a 15 year old that does not even have a DL yet, is this the case? If you must know I am Executive Vice President of an Airline. I have over 8000 hours of flight time and 33 years old. I have flown for the government, the airlines, private companies. I guess the fact you have seen the NSX with my name mentioned in both the web site and can be seen in Honda Tuning prove nothig. If I knew I was going to be graded on my grammar I would have paid more attention. Yes, I have owned all the cars I mentioned. Call it BS if you like but if you want proof just ask. Tell you what come to Nashville and see for your self. Call my NSX Straight Rice if you want, your just a jackass if you think that. Fact is I have a 2002 NSX T, a new G35, a 1984 SVO Mustang with 300hp all in my possession. These things where not free I worked hard for them. I will have a G35 running 12's with no problem if you don't believe, that's your problem. The G35 is what I wanted for a daily driver that simple. I don't like BMW's enough to own one and I have never liked Porsche.
By the way I figure for 5K I will be in the 12's with the G, is that crazy money to you, its not to me.

Selling the "become a millionaire through real estate"

You went to MIT and they couldnt even teach you how to form a basic sentence?

I'm sorry but regardless of your 1st language, your sentence construction seems really questionable.

Thats cool though - congrats and good luck with the 12 sec G35!

Yea he sounds pretty full of himself. It's almost as if he is trying to entice someone to start flaming. I get the impression that he thrives off flame wars, and I an guarantee you that is what we will see in no time at all.

As for slamming the Vette, I happened to have the opposite feeling. I would sell an NSX were it given to me, I would much rather prefer an '06 Z06 which could be sent to LPE and probably own your NSX. So what though? It's just a personal preference, and neither you nor I control or influence the market in any way. I don't think anyone here has even heard of you before, so let's not get too full of ourselves.

Anyway, good luck with your G35, I hope you are able to come up with a nice performing package, I'm sure many people will be drooling in anticipation of your progress updates

I would imagine you could get into the 12's for less than that. I saw mjedens (from my350z) hit some mid 11's with his Z and he was spraying.

Learning how to put that power to the ground and achieve those numbers - Priceless!

What is confusing? I went to MIT and left after two semesters, just not what I wanted at that point in my life. I went to Embry-Riddle in FL and finished flight school at Flight Safety, also in Florida. I wanted to get into Nuclear Physics but also wanted to fly jets. I went with flying for a living and have been very fortunate with my career choice. I never flew for the military, I did fly for non uniform government service. I have flown military jets both US and Russian. I don't fly much any more maybe 3-4 trips a month, mostly on the trips to the West coast or West Indies. I sit in an office now and manage aircraft, pilots, dispatch and a marketing department. Although I work 60 hours a week it is well worth it. I have been a captain with other airlines or chief pilot for other companies for the past 10 years.
So I think leaving MIT was very beneficial, don't you?

Yes, I don't disagree my sentence structure sucks. At least my spelling is OK. That's why there is a thing called Executive Assistants. Hell, maybe I will have her post from now on.

First, I am not full of myself, only defending a personal attack made by another. I think flame wars are for teenagers, but that does not mean I will take a negative comment laying down.
I do not understand what you mean by "slamming the Vette." I did not call it a pile of crap or anything to that effect. I merely stated that I would not own one, period, and if I was given one I would sell it and buy another NSX.
I do not doubt that someone can by a Vette and send it off and have a 500-600hp beast built, anyone can do that. If that 500-600hp Vette can own my NSX is another story. Just FYI I have raced 500whp dyno proven cars with my 388whp NSX and spanked them in street trim (real street radials, not a drag radial) on the track. 11.2's is fast for any car, but 11.2's from an NSX that drove 90 miles to the track, took his chair out of the trunk, and 5 minutes later clicked off an 11.2 @ 121mph is the real deal. So how many cars have you seen do that?
I am not full of myself just proud of what I have achieved, please note the difference.

It sounds like the Vettes you've been running are on the low end. The LPE C5 TT that I saw pulls 725 RWHP/730 TQ, runs 3.2 0-6 and 9.5 @ 145 on STREET tires. I would say that smokes your NSX easily and is probably cheaper than a stock NSX. But again, so what? There is always someone faster, and your car, although it's very nice, doesn't even come close to being scary fast.

Funny, he says he's not full of himself but then goes right back to bragging about how fast his car is. It's probably a combination of some inadequacy issues and wanting to start juvenile flame wars. What happened over at 350z again? Oh yea, flames. Big suprise...
