Would this work for those of us that don't have the bose system with the tape deck? I'm really interested in this.

it will, even though it is not bose system but u still have the tape in right, the worst part is just that the diagram for the tape in is defferent.

i will try to explain step by step

after u've taken take this out

1st remove the cd changer n the cassette radio(becareful there are 2 ribbons dun broke them)
(if u dun want to use ur oem radio system dun remove the cassette radio n skip step 3,5,6)

2nd cut off the marking in the photo

3rd make the fooling switch and the aux in, 2 wires for fooling switch, 3 wire for aux in
http://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-vi...p-guide-5.html
fooling switch is to tell the radio that there is a cassete in it to make it function
aux in i connect it with 2 rca male left & right(white & red) so u can directly plug they into the aftermarket player later

4th install the aftermarket player

5th connect the rca to front left n right output

6th find a place to install ur fooling switch(in my case i dun smoke so i install it in my ashtray)
as my player's usb slot is too close to the cover(if i plug pendrive in, the cover can't be closed) so i have extended it to my ashtray as well

6th making sure everything is connected properly get everything checked, install the hu back to ur car. complete!
(u can make the cover afterward)
