Problems with filling up the gas tank...
I don't know about anyone else here, but for the last month or so whenever I fill up the gas tank to full, the gauge never seems to indicate that it is. I have just passed 17,000 miles and it's really irritating. I make sure the nozzle clicks more than twice and the needle still lands a bit below the full line. So far I have noticed that I am getting a gallon to almost two per mile more ever since this has been happening leading me to believe that something is wrong. I haven't driven anywhere different or changed my driving style so I don't know what to attribute the change to.

I have the same problem in my coupe as well. It seems to vary though. I read that the coupe has a split tank to clear the driveline. My only guess is that when you fill it up you get air trapped on one side that keeps the tank from filling completely. I usually try bumping into my car a little to slosh the fuel around, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Maybe I should come sliding in sideways to the gas station to load up one side of the tank to make sure it will fill up all the way.
Not a very good design if that's the problem.

I did a quick search and came up with:
this thread
this one as well
both seem to touch upon the same topic you brought up....
some say its the sending unit, others say its the valve that won't allow the tank to fill completely.....
By now I would think the dealers have had enough complaints to determine the problem and correct it the first time in.....
I think I posted in one of the threads as well...ranting and raving I'm sure....

Yes it's a common problem with our G's.
My gauge was going past the full mark to the start of the 'F'. Then back in the fall, it only went up to the mark b4 the full mark. Now that it's cold, the needle is going back to above the full mark.
It's a sending unit issue and can be fixed by replacing it.
Dealer time.

There's a TSB on not being able to fill up the gas completely. I'd take it to your dealer for that. Instead of possibly teh guage not reading correctly, maybe you're just not filling it up with gas entirely. Are you putting in the same amount? I know lots of have had problems of not being able to fill it up properly including myself.
