When I use the remote lock button, the locks only turn halfway. So the alarm will go off, but the doors will still open. When I lock them with the key, they lock fine. Locking them from inside, they are a little hard to turn but they go all the way. Infiniti wanted to replace my actuators for $900, but I just feel like something needs to be oiled to make them turn easier, because when using the remote they do attempt to turn. Any feedback?

 

The actuators need to be replaced. There is a thread on here with a cheap solution, search for something like $5 actuator fix. It's basically putting in cheap generic actuators.

You can also buy the actuators from one of our sponsors ($250 or so each), and replace them yourself. It is a pain, but saves a lot of money.

 

I think I'll go for the $5 one but i am not that experienced with any installs like this. Hopefully Pythonjohn will reply to my PM so I can buy an already made thing from him. Anyone near St. Louis good at this stuff?

I replaced both of mine. It's pretty simple.

 

I PM'd him right when I heard about his fix, but so far I have no response. I have big clumsy hands so tiny stuff like this would be tough for me, but there is no way in hell im paying Infiniti the 825 they requested.

Couldn't you get together with the guy who claims his FOB opens other cars? Still waiting on a video but I think he might just have what you need.
