The 6mt's are equipped with the HOT Brembo brakes. Trust any of the 6mt owners, the brakes feel way different from the AT brakes. The pedal feel is completely different and less grabby. That alone would do it for me. .
I've driven a couple of AT '04's and '05's, and the '05's do not have the touchy (grabby) brakes. I asked the salesman about this, and he acknowledged that the new brakes are not grabby like the standard brakes in '03's and '04's. The discs have been increased also from 11.6 front/11.5 rear to 12.6 front/12.1 rear, making the discs about the same size as the Brembo discs. The new brakes definitely lack the eye appeal of the Brembos, but I think they will be plenty for the street and one would only appreciate the difference on a track.

How come no one has addressed the 6MT? I for one have seen countless threads about rough 1-2 shifts, notchy gearbox, how the 6MT requires a lot of shifting effort, how it isn't smooth nor easy to drive and therefore a flaw in Nissan's engineering, etc etc. One of the things Infiniti announced that they have improved in '05 was the 6MT. As per the very few initial impressions I've read on FA, this seems to be true.

On the flipside, yes, newly introduced changes are prone to more problems. But come on, it's just a mid-generation change, not a complete redesign. I'd be so bummed out if '05 people, for example, started having window motor problems. And yes, another downside is that now Infiniti is making people pay more for the same equipment that was available for less in '03/04 (VLSD and Aero w/ Sport susp. only and so on). Yet another downside are the increases in MSRP and destination charges announced yesterday (check infinitinews for more info).

Having said all that, I'd gladly get an '03/04 if the car wasn't keeping its value so well, but where I live preowned 6MT coupes are so expensive that it's just not worth it to me.
