Pulling Transmission

So my clutch went out right after my warranty was up , ive been working on getting every thing undone i got stuck at a stripped transmission bolt and i just got it undone " Thank god !"
All the bolts are out as far as i know i have a 1500 Pound jack ( Not a transmission jack since i don't have the cash to buy one right now ) The plate on it is about 3-4 inches in diameter will this be okay to lower the transmission out with ?

Also the write up says to " Wiggle the transmission loose " Its not wiggling ... Do i have to pry some where first or what ???

Im doing this in my driveway since im limited , Any advice here would be very helpful !! i miss my G its been like 2 weeks since i drove her !

the jack should be fine for removal i would get a friend to help pull it and i would also ratchet strap or tie the tranny to the jack some how just to prevent it from rolling off and to give you more stability to wiggle it out. the only concern i could see with using a regular jack will be when you are reinstalling because you wont be able to adjust side to side and up and down tilts. so basically you are going to have to man handle it back in the jack wont be able to help much on the install i would definetly recommend getting a friend to help. but as for getting the transmission off usually you will need to do alittle prying to get it to pop off its seat but once its broke free from the engine it should be smooth sailing. Also did you get an alighnemt tool with your new clutch? and did you get a new fly wheel? if not you may want to consider getting it resurfaced depending on what condition it is in. the one last thing you may need to be mindfull of is if your car is lifted enough to either get the transmission out from under the car or atleast far enough back be able to remove/install the old/new clutch

i hope this will help post questions if you still have any

Yeah thank you , Yes the alignment tool came and i also rented a bearing puller . The person who is helping me doesn't want to pull the ypipe because hes saying it wont seal right when we put it back on . Any thoughts on that ? 73000 mile coupe.

Is there any new seals i need to buy when doing this?

i have had my y pipe off and back on if you are carefull you should be able to save the gaskets no problem. plus it should make your life alot easier and give you alot more room to work with. if you want to play it safe you can go get new exhoust gasket but if it comes off in one piece you can re-use it no problem. as far as seals go i cant think of any maybe some body else may have some input on that but ive never replaced anything seal wise when ive pulled trannys in the past. but to answer your question yes i would pull your y pipe.

if your exhoust was hot when you pulled it it might not seal right but if its been sitting for 2 weeks like you said i cant see there being any problems

to heavy for the average person to carry but i would recomend definelty having 2 people to make it safer and easier it will be no problem if you have 2 people to carry it. but i dont know a specific weight

ive tried with a friend to do this with a normal jack and seriously, its not gonna work. save yourself the time and frustration and get yourself a transmission jack. i got one from harbor freight for like 70-80 bucks and with that i was able to reinstall the tranny alone. i dont know the exact weight but id say its approx 200 lbs; its very heavy. the y pipe must be removed to lower the tranny and those gaskets will be fine to re use. and to actually pull off the tranny youll want to lower it a bit first then you can stick a flathead in the bottom to pry it off.
