From what it sounds like you may of been going "back and forth" too fast. Did you only do 1 coat? Also if you feel like you've messed up get some googone and pour it over the vht and it'll take a little bit of rubbing but you can get it all off and start fresh.

now a couple questions about goo gone and good off.. which one works better or are they the same thing? also, which variations of either would be the best for this kinda thing cuz i just did a search and there are a lot of different variations of the goof off

But when you get close, more so on the left light than on the right, you can see the spottiness

did you sand down the lights first, then prepped it, then put clear coat on top? That's how VHT dries when you just spray it directly on. You should of followed the instructions someone posted a page or two back, it would of came out glossy.

i will admit that i forgot about the directions someone posted. i was doing it with a friend and we just went with the directions on the can :s

but the right light came out fine, and i didnt do anything to it. the left light i cleaned with windex prior to putting on the vht, and the right light i did nothing and it came out fine.

i'd honestly clean the VHT off and do it the right way. It'll last much longer, it'll look much much cleaner, and it'll all around look better.

Cleaning with windex is what did it. Use goof off to take it off then clean with alcohol let dry then spray. Also it doesn't work good when the lights are cold. I took mine off at night and brought them in the house overnight so they would be the same temp as the spray also. Mine did the same thing the first time I tried.

Yeah do as all these guys above have said, take it off an redo it. As far as goofoff vs googone they all do the same thing, I've always used the "citrus googone" for anything I've needed it for on my car, ie: debadge.

Once you get it off, sand your lights as I posted before, wash them with normal car wash soap, thouroughly dry, then paint slow and even light coats...the only reason i recommend light coats bc unless you want them blacked out you want to be easy bc it gets real dark real quick after the second coat. If youve got any other questions I'll keep checking to try to help you out.

Make sure you take them off ! You will regret it trying to spray with them on

Plastidip works well on wheels I think. Easy application and holds up well. I get plenty of compliments on my plastidipped wheels. I would recommend black calipers for sure. G2 caliper paint is the only way to go for long term fantastic results.

went to go do my rims with a buddy today, turned out nice. ill take pictures during the day since by the time we finished it was dark, but i managed to get a few before it got dark.

i decided im going to keep my tails the way they are for now. my buddies (who are car fanatics like me) complimented them enough to the point where he asked me to do his for him. so i guess the spottyness isn't too noticeable unless you're up close once it bothers me enough, ill take it off and re-do it the right way.

You could also look into getting them professionally clear coated if you like the way it is done. Gives it that shine and makes them stand out more. A buddy of mine had his cleared after he used VHT.
