Since you said the dash/radio lights flicker, then I'm inclined to say it's a bad battery. You can have it tested at any auto parts store, usually for free, for confirmation.

Had a battery fail that way before: it started the car just fine (no slow start like you normal think of), but all electronics were going crazy. They put it on the tester and the voltage was twitching all over the place.

Can't find if anybody who post a similar problem. I have 2003 G35 V6 about 112K miles. Well maintain and runs good until today. After driving off a short while, the Slip light, VCD light and Check Engine light came on and stayed on. So, stopped and shut off completely. Restart and these lights still stayed on. During starting, it reluctantly start - kind of a little hard to start. Can anybody please help? From the above posts, can it be the battery? Will bring to auto shop to check the battery tomorrow. What other possible reasons?

That wouldn't cause the hard start Ash, my guess is you have a camshaft position or crank sensor going bad onlyme. Get the SES read and post up your code/s, that'll tell us a lot.

Reminds me of the issue I had when I forgot to connect the MAF after installing my HFCs. I also had similar issue when few drops of water were sucked in by my intake, so also maf related.

But your best bet get a scanner and get the code

Appreciated your reply. Not sure what you meant by "get a scanner". I did not see any error code display on the dashboard. Just Slip, VCD and check engine light indicators on.

Just checked the battery at Kragen/O'Reilly Auto Parts. They check battery for free. The battery is good (still under warranty).

Also while driving, I turned on the aircon. At traffic light, the car just stalled. Completely dead. Have to restart - no aircon or fan on. Any ideas why car just stalled?

To follow up, I did more research and finally understood what it means "get scanner". Sorry for the confusion. I bought a scanner to scan for the code. Code display is P0340. Look up the DTC code for 2003 G35 and there is a lot there. Not sure if I;m looking at the right ones. Sounds like camshaft position sensor problem. Is that right? If so, is it better to fix at dealer or non-dealer? What's the reasonable cost at the dealer?

I had a feeling. 0340 is the bank one sensor, I think they are a little over $100 and are relatively easy to install. Shouldn't cost you more than $100 at a reputable shop or dealership (use Nissan, not Infiniti as they are a little cheaper) if you can't do it yourself.
