G35 Coupe Gas Consumption
I personally prefer my Nav saying my avg mpg is lower... because that means it gives a lower number for the miles the remaining tank can still travel. If the MPG is too high, then ... the remain miles number is way too inaccurate if you're not driving at that specific avg. MPG ... which sorta sucks since I drive city alot... so I prefer lower MPG... not saying that I like to pay for gas... but it's just... safer that way. =)
City driving and a ton of red lights I am at 80 miles at almost the 3/4 full mark on my 05 MT. First tank of gas I have put in myself, 400 miles on the car using Chevron 93.
I filled up on Saturday so a tank will last me 2-3 weeks at the rate I drive around

I get 17-18 mpg... i drive moderately aggressively.. mostly highway with a lil city-roads. 32 bucks every 2 or 3 days isnt fun.
I have a Accord V6 that gets 26 - 28 mpg on 87 octane gas.. but going back to a accord after driving the G35 just feels wrong.

Yikes 11mpg? I have never gotten that low. I have a commute of 19 miles with over half being on the interstate at 80mph. I routinely get 20-21. The lowest I ever got was 16 and the highest was only 23. I thought the highway mileage would be better but even at steady speeds with cruise control the mileage is lower than my previous hi-po car.
05 auto 1500 miles (or so)
I drive 2 miles to work, drive the car moderately hard, live in the burbs, doesnt run the car long enough to warm up the cats, and avg around 14-15mpg
when i have a more mixed drive i avg around 18,
long highway drives around 70mph im doing about 24mpg.
do the ECU, perform 3 fillups and document miles & gallons used. then see what happens.

I usually average around 18-21 mpg. I tend to be very agressive when I drive and my wife hates it. The worst I ever got was just over 13 mpg's, and I was running to redline most of the time in each shift. And the best I did was on a trip to and from Vegas. I was getting around 21-22 mpg's and was traveling in the triple digits most of the time even up to (130) a couple of times. That time I think I went about 354 miles before re-fueling. I would definitely get your car checked, and if the dealership still says it's O.K., then go to another dealership. I've taking my car to other dealerships when I wasn't satisfied with the work that one didn't do. That's how I got my headlights replaced. And on a side note, did you guys with NAV notice that if you select the average reset button and while holding the button down, you push it down towards the fuel economy record icon. It will start to clear the graph? If I'm not making it clear, I'm sorry. Just thought it was cool.
Oh! And usually when I refuel, I only put in 16 gallons.
Later,
Ray

I'm hanging around 14.5 mpg, in my '05 6mt, and I think I have one of the lower average speeds, for my last tank I was at 19.8 MPH. The only thing that saves my commute is a lot of hills and curves the last 2 miles.
nah...on a good day you cant drive below 70 on nyc parkway. If you do 65 on the belt , everone will be passing you.
I have a 2005 G35x, when I first got the car it got 17 - 18 mpg in the NYC area. It has 2500 miles on it now..the tires are inflated a bit less and there is a big hole in my intake (I spilled paint scrapper on it at work, so I had to remove the "power duct" piece that runs accross the grill.) My computer is now averaging 14-15 MPG (now that gas prices have soared to 2.93). I plan on removing the spare tire, over inflating my tires (I really dont care about the ware effects, I am just going to increase it 2 or 3 psi)and get KN+ Ztube...fix intake.
It is very diffucult if not possible to drive conservatively over here. I traveled the US and I definitly think that over here in NY we drive alot more aggressively.
