Tire Pressure sensor
Tire Pressure sensor
I have a 2006 Coupe that suddenly decided to have the tire pressure sensor warning light on all the time. It's doing the blink thing upon start up and then stays on all the time--not just when your driving over 16mph as the owners manual states.
Can this be reset,or anyone have an idea what the tab would be at a garage to fix it? The pressure in all the tires is fine, more annoying than anything else.
Thanks!

The TPS warning comes on when you drop below 22 lbs in your tires, can we assume your running at least 35 psi on all four corners? If you're 100% sure of the tire pressure you could take your G into Nissan and have them check out your sensors....Infiniti likes to charge more because they can.

I'll check the pressure once more but....according to the owners manual if there is a malfunction in the sensor system the tire pressure light will blink for about a minute on start up and stay on. If you merely have low pressure the light won't come on until your at 16 mph or faster. Mine is now on all the time.

They are stock Infinity rims--at least they have an Infinity badge on them. I just got this Coupe a couple of weeks ago and it's six years old so I'm guessing one of those sensors in a rim has gone south. The tire pressure is correct for all four tires.

You're right. It'd be virtually impossible for me to actually tell before it was too late. I just want to excuse my frugality. However, last year I was rolling 100% stock and sensors had no issues; Next thing I knew, my front right tire ripped to shreds on the freeway.
What am I talking about?

That must have been a wake up call....Ouch! You must have run over something very sharp that took the tire out immediately like 1/2 a beer mug....trying to visualize what would do it.

Thanks for your time and answers. Wouldn't a regular tire store have a diagnostic tool for a bad sensor? I go to a certain one on a regular basis--they also do lube and Oil and other things. I could have them find the bad one (hopefully not more than one) and I could buy the part and have them change it out. Those of you that have changed one did you buy a Nissan equivalent instead of what I would think to be more expensive and that would be one from Infinity? Or are they about the same price?
On this coupe the tires only have about 2k miles, they were changed out when the car was traded in so it will be some time before a tire change.
