Re: premium package worth it? ?

I got mine without the premium pkg. I did however get the sunroof, so I think they only thing that i'm missing is the homelink, bose, and dual zone climate control.

Before I got my car I was worried that the stock stereo wouldn't sound good, but i'm extremely pleased with the base stereo. I don't think the climate control is that big of a deal, i just turn on my heated seats when the passenger gets cold. I do wish I had the homelink, but I only have one remote so it's not that big of a deal. I do like my sunroof and use it a lot.

Re: premium package worth it? ?

I think the premium package is worth it for many reasons, but probably the biggest are the Bose system, seat heaters, and the sunroof. I can't imagine not wanting the sunroof in this car, especially if you have the graphite interior. That vent mode really cools things down.

The Bose Premium system is good for an OEM system in my opinion. If your looking for a bass bombing system to shake the car three lanes over, than this system will not impress you. But, for most people its better than average. A client of mine who has a Bose system in his 2003 E-Class like the sound of my coupe better.

Plus, the sound system in the coupe is not easy to upgrade. The head unit is integrated with the HAC controls I believe (someone else may need to confirm that), and you will loose the steering wheel controls.

The Auto headlights aren't a must, but are cool. I'm suprised you have to upgrade to the Premium to get these, heck my 2000 Alero GLS had them.

Oh, and I think that coupes with the Premium package will have a higher resale value too.
Edited by bigel on 04/26/03 07:35 PM.

Heated seats aren't part of the premium package.....

Re: premium package worth it? ?

I would like the dual climate control, sunroof is no biggie for me, I never had a car with auto dimming mirrors, so i'm not sure how it works or if its worth it. The Bose....well as long as it sounds better than stokc then i guess it would be nice to have( i dont want a car shaking bass).

Re: premium package worth it? ?

For me, the dual climate control was nice but the sunroof and homelink was important. There's so many times I'm going to the in-laws and it's convenient opening their garage rather than having one of their remotes in the box or on the visor. The stereo, to me, was an expensive add-on but the specs seemed decent however, some have dug into the speakers and found them no where near premium class. Typically, I keep the mirror out of auto dim mode unless there's a reason. ...dean

Re: premium package worth it? ?

I have both the sunroof and the heated seats - and I *DON'T* have the premium package. So, if you are considering getting premium because of those, then think again - you don't have to get premium to get those two items..

One thing I really like about the sunroof is the higher level of tint than in my 97 Maxima. In Houston the sun is very intense and I keep the shade pulled in the Max but in the G I never use it, and it's very comfortable.
