Best thing to do rebuild? Or new or used?

Hello, i want to start out by saying i know there are alot of threads about this but it never seems to get answered so im just going to ask it again. What is the best thing to do. I have a 2003 g35 that needs a new engine. Cylinder 4 has no compression. I can not find any place online that rebuilds engines that are for a g35. Could anybody please tell me the best thing do? Should i just buy a used engine off ebay and take my chances? Or rebuild? Or does anybody know a place that sells engines already redone? THANKS

rebuild would probably be your best bet for those prices. Includes labor and parts. and its your engine which you know has no oil consumption problems. you dont know how others have been treated

If you have an AT all the engines are basically the same from '03 thru '07. That Stage 1 long block looks good, not a bad price but I'd want more information about there heads. The '06 used motor with 25K miles might work if it's not a REVUP motor from a MT car....Gary

If you plan on keeping the car at least 3yrs + then its worth rebuilding if not, just buy a used engine for $600-900 and drop it in and trade in the car later. Check my350z.com, since there more engines on that forum.

if you plan on keeping the car for a long time and are going to mod, the easier way is just buying the entire long block from importpro and pay the core charge. Install the new engine into the car and send your old block back and get your core charge refunded.

By buying the long block you at least know they tests the heads and block to work together, versus trying to install your head on there block. You also have to resurface the heads to make sure there completely flat if you don't buy the long block...all this takes time.

The long block is $4400 and the core charge is $1500. You get the $1500 back when you send back your old engine.
