Oh man. Both sides of mine needed cleaning but the fuel pump side is missing the little plastic cover over the piano keys. Either it’s floating around in my gas tank somewhere or the previous owner’s mechanic forgot to put it back on. It seems to be important as it holds the pointer in place. It sort of works now but won’t go below 1/4 tank.

So I guess I have to replace the unit or find that piece at a junkyard
