Oh, the horror. I received my red coupe no less than 2 weeks ago...tonight I wasn't paying attention when I pulled into my garage, and, well, you get the idea. It's not that bad, but it definitely ruins the 'new car' gleam.

The silver lining to this is that the scratches were near the wheels on the decals. Does anyone know if that will mitigate the problem?? How fast can it get fixed? I need consolation in this time of mourning....

his wheels are scratched according to his story, but the topic says his decals are scratched... looks like you'll have to get your wheels re-finished, thats the best way to remove clear-coated wheel scratches

I think he's talking about those body-colored protective decals/panels/appliques, whatever you want to call 'em, that are right in front of the rear wheel-wells.

I just got my car on Friday, and it has the same decals. I don't know, since no one else seems to know what he's talking about, could it be that they are newly added at the factory, and earlier cars didn't have them?

They've always been there to prevent debris from coming off the tires and chipping the paint.

 

ohh those decals...its 3m protective ish....rip em off and get new ones.
