The TransGo kit is the best valve body upgrade on the market. Tons of member's have them and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Each shop is different - installation can cost anywhere from $150-350 - it's a tricky install, and I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself if you've never worked with auto transmissions before. However, there is a DIY in the DIY forum.

Decrease? lol. It would increase your time. All it does is make your shifts incredibly faster - smoother in a way too, but also very firm when on the throttle. There is no downside in performance.
No downsides at all really - except expense and down time on the car for a few hours. It won't cause stress to the tranny - it can actually help because the faster shifts result in less friction resulting in less heat. Heat (and torque) are the killers of ATs.

Two reputable shops here (in Socal) charge 450-550 for the install, plus fluids. (about 80 dollars worth of fluid) Even with the high labor rate, it was well worth the price as the Vortech was bogging my rpms between gears...not anymore.

Nope...from what I've seen GTM charges around 900 to do their valve body upgrade (parts and labor) which uses a Transgo, so it works out to the same rate of labor as the other two shops when all is said and done. I got mine done at Corner 3 Garage and the other shop was Specialty Z in Chatsworth. Only two shops that I trust for now to work on my car. 350 is quite a bargain, and 150 is highway robbery.

It works just as good on an N/A setup
Its worth it if you get on it every now and then, regardless if you have FI. I got mine installed before I had my vortech. Because even with just bolt ons, you still have the lag between shifts at higher rpms.
