Hey guys! Everytime i go to start my car, as soon as it fires up, i get a quick rattle. It almost sounds like a quick angine ping for like half a second. Any ideas?
Its an 06 coupe. Aem intake with injen filter. 187 km on the car.

 

have someone stand in front and try to see if they can narrow down where its coming from.

your description is a bit vague.

 

are you 6MT or AT? my 6MT transmission rattles on cold starts fairly loudly right after cranking

 

Maybe a heat shield on the exhaust?

OP, Next time you're under the car changing the oil tap the exhaust heat shields with your hand just in case one of them is loose.

I feel a knock at cold start-up...

 

This....^....isn't his heat shield, it would last longer than half a second. I've experienced this "Rattle" and trust me when I tell you it's his VDC engaging....nothing else!
