That's why every single complaint should be followed by a complaint to the confumer affairs. Do you know how many G35s have been sold over 6 years? There are alot of owers our there with these issues. The thing is INFINITI IS AWARE Of the BAD CRACKED DASHBOARDS. They just want enough time to go by so that they will not have enough of these claims due to the car be an old car with expected worn issues and 2nd and 3rd owners no longer complaining. They did this with the brakes when the G35 first came out. Then they extended the brake warranty. They did this with the FX35 dashboard cracking and bublling. Then they finally corrected and recalled all the FX35s. It just a matter of if it will be cost effective or they get EHOUGH BAD PRESS THAT MATTERS! Here in Florida, you can complain to WPTV and if your are lucky they might do a news story on issues that bother many consumers. It's only if enough owners complain in any way possible (facebook), Newspapers,Forums, and Better Business Bureau will things change. Remember, iNFINITI WANTS YOU TO GO AWAY SO THAT THEY CAN COME OUT WITH NEW PRODUCTS. Complain, get file numbers under consumer affairs and continue complaining. It also worked somewhat with the tire issues on the early G35s. iF YOU GUYS WANT SOMETHING DONE, IT CAN BE DONE...FYI..........Consumers have gotten their G35 dashboards replaced for no money out of therir porckets. It can be done!!!!! File many complaints with BBB and get file complaints with Comsumer Affairs, even if they deny the complaint. They add up. Don't give up!

lol, so i got a call from Nissan North America today, guess it went up another level, and she says, I'm sorry, we re-evaluated your case and cannot offer you any type of financial support at this time. I was like, then why did you call me again to let me know the same thing. And now they blocked me from posting issue that I found around the web, and they deleted my posts from their facebook page. Oh well, I'm heading to the new car reviews page to put my comment there, I want people to know that Nissan/Infiniti doesn't stand buy their products and just wants to sell us lemons at a huge profit margin.

I filed a complaint through Infiniti and consumer affairs for a crack in my dashboard.. they said that there is nothing they could do for me. Mine looks like a slice and is starting from the corner that's at the bottom left of the guage cluster visor.

Anyone have any luck repairing any of these slice type cracks?

There is really no repair for the defective material used on our dashboards. Besides, even if you do the repair, what do you think is happening as I'm writing this to the rest of your dashboard?.......more deterioration. As it progresses, the plastic covering not only cracks but in some cases falls off in pieces and the white undercoating is seen. It's a mess. Really really crappy materials that need to be addressed now. There are a ton of our cars out there with the same problem without the owner's knowledge unless someone points it out to them. File complaints to the BBB. Infiniti does not like that!

Hi there! I have had the worst time dealing with Infiniti/Nissan regarding issues with my car. Like you said, they clearly don't stand by their products. They honestly could care less. The only time they'll actually do anything is if there are enough complaints/laws suits against them, like you said. A lot of times, they're probably just banking on the fact that most people wouldn't go through the hassle of complaining and whatnot, so they get away with not having to fix the problems. Completely unsatisfactory and wrong, but I guess they don't have any morals or ethics, so what does it matter to them? Sad.

Hi! Just got the paint issue resolved sometime last year, and now my dash is having problems... it's like one thing after the next with this car. Anyway, with the paint problem I had, I brought it up to Infiniti Consumer Affairs numerous times, but to no avail. It wasn't until I finally filed a complaint against them via the BBB that the Infiniti/Nissan corporate finally budged a little. They never once took any sort of responsibility for their shoddy craftsmanship, but in the end, they did offer to pay half of the repair costs... seeing as how they're so difficult to deal with, I just settled for that. Needless to say, I am never going to purchase another Infiniti/Nissan, and I'll make sure none of my friends and family do either.

the dash crack especially here is a common thing. Ive evaluated other used G's after I got mine and I found myself lucky and relieved, they were cracked and poor paint as well. As far as cracks right above the aluminum strip, I have a small one myself I discovered sometime afiter I got it and didnt thing it would o[pen up much wider because of its location perfectly at the tip above the aluminum, but seeing the pic above, I could be wrong. the best thing to do I'm thinking is to slice the cut down towards the aluminum were it will not spread across, or find some nice black strong tape and take it perfectly across above the aluminum trim piece. mines starts from the passenger vent and stops mid way above the glovebox. I don't have any brown showing with ur head at sitting height. It could have been prevented by finishing the tear downwards towards the aluminum when it started at the vent to keep it from spreading over. I dont know how long mines has been there and if it will get much wider as far as exposing the brown stuff, but I'm thinking taking a Carbon Fiber, suede, or just a black vinyl(about 1/8" in mycase) all the way across, straight as possible it if it gets worse. Thats my best advice there.

U can gouge the dash material with ur fingernail BTW, ask me how I know.

Also, in addition to the cracked dash, the material that lines the interior panels of the car have peeled/are peeling off. Idk... anyone else experience/experiencing that as well? I just expected more from a vehicle of this caliber, ya know? I guess I really did get myself a lemon.

Just got my second 05 coupe and the dash is cracked way worse than anything I'v seen on here. Pics don't do it justice either. The soft perforated side panels in the back are peeling off slightly at the top too. Of course I can't complain because I bought it that way.

My 05 and 08 coupes did not have the slightest cracks. The steering wheel was replaced in the 08 due to the material (leather/pleather) breaking down.

Any new updates on this subject? Has anyone gotten any positive results for their cracking dashboards?

For whatever reason that I don't understand, it seems that the earlier G35s 03 and 04 don't have the severity of the cracking issues that the later models such as the 06 and 07 do. My 04(knock on wood) has nothing after 10 years in Florida while my girlfriend's 06 has a new crack every day. There have been some owners that have gotten their dashboards replaced, but they are few and far between. These dashboards are total crap. I've also read that the 07 and newer sedans have warping problems with their dashboards.

I bought my 04 G in 08 used and I have never used any type of protection on the dash board.
It doesn't have one crack in it, weird that the later models have this issue.
