It doesn't have one crack in it, weird that the later models have this issue.
+1 Just as I mentioned earlier, the 03 and 04s seem to have skirted this problem. Bottom line is that the FX had a defective dashboard that Infiniti after a number of years finally decided to acknowledge and replace for their owners. There are many more G35s on the road than FXs and of course Infiniti should be stepping up to the plate as well, especially if they have any concern for brand loyalty. Infiniti is very well aware of the defective dashboards but has decided to ignore it.

My 05 and 08 coupes did not have the slightest cracks. The steering wheel was replaced in the 08 due to the material (leather/pleather) breaking down.
Holly crap! That's insane.

I just went out to check my 06 coupe and it's still perfect. I live in SD so I don't get the kind of year round sun that some of you have. I do use Armor All cleaning (not protectant) wipes to remove dust, but I don't spray anything on the dash. I don't use a sun shield at work but I've always popped the roof if I know it's not going to rain. People use those sun shields for a reason. I think you're taking a risk on any brand car with a black dash if you don't.

I'm also an 06 Fx45 owner and did have the bubbling dash issue which infiniti extended the dash warranty for. Had that replaced at Lupient Infiniti in Minneapolis last month. The replacement dash is a different material and I believe this is a completely unrelated issue to what you guys are seeing. The fx forums indicate small bubbles all over the dash, generally no cracking. Based on the extremely long threads there, I believe this is happening to almost every fx which was the reason for Infiniti offering an 8yr warranty on it. Based on the number of posts in this thread, I don't think this issue is widespread enough to get Infiniti's attention. Some of the cracks I've seen here would definitely drive me batty and I hope mine stays in good shape.

I don't believe that the G35 dash issues are necessarily related to sun or protectants as direct causes.Even if they were to be considered a catalyst, cracking dashes should not occur after 5-7 years. I've seen 20 year old Florida cars with perfect dashboards. I have even seen (I believe on this forum) an 06 G35 with 1500 original miles on it (virtually new) with the dash completely and totally covered with cracks. The owner claims a protectant never touched the dash. Since I've been aware of this issue, the G35s I do see or ask about (mostly 05-07) have cracked dashes. The FX had the bubble issue, the G35 has the cracking/sticky dash issue. Both defective. The more complaints to Infiniti Consumer Affairs, the better chance of something being done.

Angry Infiniti ignores cracking dashboards.

Unless you have spent lots of money at the dealership in Service/Maintenance, they will not do anything for you. I have tried the dealership, cooperate and even the BBB with no results. Only a class action suit will fix the problem. Anyone want start one?
The dash is $1007 and installation another $500 at my dealership. You can pay for the repair or cheap out and buy a Cover King dash mat for your car like I did.

Dashboard Cracking up

I also have a 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe and the dashboard is starting to crack
it's like each day there is another crack.
I just realized it since I went to the stealership to replace a passenger airbag that had recall on it....

Voiding any warranty or discounts?

I too have the same problem of a cracking dashboard, and since i see its already a huge issues with others, making a complaint towards Infiniti is next on my list as we do have voice in numbers. But question: If i had an aftermarket radio receiver installed (Pioneer avh-x3600bhs), would that by any chance ruin a possibility of getting a discount from Infiniti? Since installing it obviously required pulling down the dash, even though all cracking was present before-hand?

Is this more of a coupe issue than a sedan issue?

I have an '06 sedan with 150k miles....no cracks.

I've got cracks that run just above the silver trim piece that run parallel with the trim just where the dash curves. I think it's a material issue, not a model issue.

Well, just spent some time at lunch inspecting my dash in my '06 sedan, 150K miles. No cracks, and no ripples.

Guess I'm lucky.

My dashboard had a handful of cracks all over the dash. They bothered the crap out of me so much that I got them professionally repaired. I doubt the dealership would do anything about it, even in large numbers. They'll probably try to sell you a $3,000 replacement dash.
