auto lock and unlock with stock alarm?

I know with the KP Technologies window rollup modification it can enabled automatic locking 15 seconds after ignition but the module doesnt support automatic unlocking for reasons unbeknownst to me

I think if youre going to have auto locking it should also have auto unlocking; its just convenience

So is there anyway to get auto locking and unlocking with the stock alarm system?

(I know with aftermarket systems you can do this)

Thanks in advance

There was a thread on this very recently. The reason the KPtech module doesn't have auto unlock is due to the RAP system that maintains power on ignition circuits until the door is open. There is NO traditional ignition signal in the door where the KPtech module mounts.

Auto Lock/Unlock can be done on the G but it has to be done in the drivers kick panel at the BCM. DEI makes a auto lock/unlock module that can be coupled with a DEI 451M to make everything work. In the drivers kick you can find the door lock acutator wires and you will have to hardwire the 451M (the acutators operate on a reverse polarity system so you need a relay interface). In the Kick you can find a true ignition sigal too I'm pretty sure. If there isn't one at the BCM there is definately one under the drivers side dash.

There is NO way to program the OEM alarm system or BCM to auto lock/unlock (Not very many Japanese cars offere this feature).

Oh, and the window module from the beginning was never intended to do autolocking, along the way we found that it could autolock so we wrote some code to include it. From the beginning we havn't pushed the autolocking feature because most people do find it useless, but a few coupe owners can't live without it!

Well thanks for the reply
Unfortunate though, I really hoped something could be done

Even my lousy 93 Accord had this feature (granted, it was through an aftermarket Clifford system)

I thought nobody looked into auto-unlocking, because you don't really need it on the coupe, because you can still open the door, even if it's locked...

I don't imagine it would be that hard to implement though... Just take a power line that is only hot when ignition is on, and wire it to a relay that is normally closed. That way, when the ignition is open, the relay will be open. When ignition is turned off, the relay completes the circuit...

If its true that you can still open the door with it locked then youre right, this is irrelevant. Dont need auto unlocking if so

(I sadly dont actually own a G yet; buying an 03 coupe within a week)

Yes, if the door is locked on the G COUPE you can open it up by pulling the handle. However, on the G sedan and the Z you MUST unlock the door manually before pulling the handle.

Weird, wonder why they did it that way

Whatever though, works for me

Thanks for the insight and the cool mod (plan on buying one once I get my car)

Sorry, I got lost in all of the termonology about how to set up our G to auto lock. Can some one explain in a simpler way how to set this up? I am very interested in doing this.

It's true, you don't need auto-unlock to open the door on the coupe. But I think you do need it to get gas...

There is no simplar way to add auto lock/unlock to the G. You need a module to provide the 'intelligance' of the system and you need two relays to interface with the stock door lock actuators. Take the car to a local alarm shop and they should be able to hook you up.

Yes, you do need it to unlock the fuel door. I ALWAYS take my keys out of the ignition and put them in my pocket when I get gas so I just hit the unlock button when I get gas (once every 4-6 weeks in my case)

Its kind of odd, we have been selling this modules for 9 months now and we have never had anyone really make a big deal for the auto locking/unlocking feature. We can make it work, we just never thought there was any interest in it.
