If you plan to buy a G and your going to be making payments on it for a few years, make sure it is still under warranty or purchase the extended warranty if you can afford it. Less milage is always better since you will be replacing parts and doing maintenance around 90-100K. Unless you know how to do a lot of the work yourself, parts and labor can be pricy. Also make sure you have a mechanic look at the car before you buy it and check the vehicle records for any issues. An 06 with 45K sounds like a good deal, just watch out for the oil consumption issues that are common on the 05-06's.

Also I bought an 05 MT with 67K miles on it back in '10. Turns out it had oil consumption issues, but luckily I was still under the power train warranty and the dealership replaced the long black at 70K. You don't want to be making payments on a G that has issues. Other then that, I am glad to be a G-35 owner!!!!!!

not many reported issues on 07's, but every car line will have a bad egg. oc is much more common on the MT's

Well, I drove 4 hours to get my G35 without my wife but she needed to sign some of the papers. My wife faxed over both sides of her drivers license, the dealer did all the paperwork, marked where she needed to sign and sent me on my merry way with all the papers in a FedEx envelope to send back to the dealer. So, either that dealer doesn't want a sale or wants a sale with a little extra effort. There should be a way to do it without your grandmother there. Good luck.

As far as high mileage fears--these cars are near bullet-proof. I wouldn't worry in the least about a well maintained car that had 150k on it. Would you rather buy one that someone heavily modded and/or raced that had 35k? My buddy's '04 has 152k on it, and he has never had any mechanical issues/repairs (only regular maintenance) and I know another guy with an '08 G37 that already has 124k on it that runs like a top! These aren't your Daddy's '81 Chevy/Ford/Dodges we're talking about here (disposable after 80k), Nissan/Honda/Toyota have earned their reliability reputations with cars that frequently go 200k (my '98 Acura GSR had 175k and never even had the clutch replaced!).

I have to agree with the previous post. I have a150K on my G, but it has been stock up until last week, at which point I added a plenum spacer. Basically normal wear in tear were the only costs associated with my G. I've been averaging 18,500 miles a year, but I drive alot and in Europe its awesome to drive here so I like to take full advantage of the autobahn while I can Most people won't put that much mileage on, so you'd have a long way to catch up to me. What the last poster said is good advice though. I'd be more weary of a heavily modded G with low mileage than a stock G with high mileage. Oh ya, and when I bought my G I was already in Europe. I gave power of attorney to a friend to bring my G to a port and have it shipped. All paperwork was done via fax and mail. The first time I even sat in the car was when I picked it up at the port in Germany. So, I don't know why your grandmother has to be there. The dealership should try to work with you on this one. Good luck!

There should b a away around this to get this deal done shouldn't it?!! Or do y'all think the dealer just don't want to sale me the car??? I really don't understand the prob if she goes to her bank and get all the paper work they fax her notarized??!! I really want this car but it's not looking good unless she will fly round trip but that's an extra 1000 dollars on top of everything else... Please help

Again, talk to the sales manager at the dealer or the finance manager at the bank. Something should be able to be done via fax or FedEx to get the car.
