I hate the air cleaner system

Hi,

Didn't realize how much of a pain it is to change the air filter. THEN when I went to cut off the zip tie to move the MAF wire whole piece of plastic broke off that the zip tie goes through. And me and my OCD it's bothering me. To bad that air cleaner cover is like 85 dollars.

I am used to just having 4 clips. Not removing the entire system.

If you enjoyed that one, the in cabin air filter is worse

Though both easy anyway..

I just did this as well and I honestly don't think I even zip tied the wires back. Didn't seem to be a point.

Thanks for the reminder. Gotta change mine this weekend since all the pollen is gone. What a mess my allergies have been!

Yeah. I clipped the zip tie to remove the wire, and simply stuck the wire back into the cut clip afterwords. It didn't look like it would matter though.

Opposite for me. The engine filter had a few steps and was easy to access. The cabin filter had more steps and was a pain to get at. (Apparently.. the wire that I was struggling with/tugging on, was for the airbag... )

Why cut the zip tie for the MAF wire? You could've squeezed the ends of that clip with some needle nose pliers and pushed it though... Since you're all OCD.

Wow, if you had a hard time with that....might be a good idea to just have a professional work on your car from now on! Surpised you don't throw a fit when you have to pop your gas door and unscrew the cap to fill up your tank.

Give the guy a break, I have 20+ years in automotive and honestly the airbox was a little irritating the first time I dealt with it (sure it's easy after you have done it once but my guess is this is his first time changing the filter).
