Unhappy Questions: about my 100+mph ticket

I got a 107mph ticket in san bernadino county on the way to vegas on the 138 on the 5th of january so now I dunno what to expect. What kind of fine am I looking at? how badly am I screwed?

so I was flying by and I was going about 140ish and I was coming up to a car so I slowed down to like 80 and somewhere along the line the cop radars me at 123 mph and pulls me over and he writes me up for 107mph in 70 so I ended up getting to vegas with a new ticket kinda ghey but oh well.help me I need some sort of heads up as to what I'm looking at.

You're looking at mandatory court appearance, reckless driving charge, traffic school, and significant insurance hike. I'd get a lawyer and work out a plea agreement. I take it you had no radar detector?

i'm surprised he didn't take you to jail right there. 26+ in cali means they can take your license away and put you in jail immediately. i can't imagine anyone actually going 140.

anyway, if you have the ticket, you should be able to check on the back to find how much it is. you should also be able to check if you need to appear in court. if he didn't give you separate tickets for reckless driving, then you don't need to worry about it.

CA tickets don't show amount. You'll receive a letter in the mail stating appearance date. A friend of mine did the same on the I-15 30 min outside of Barstow. About 135MPH in his tuned GS400. License suspended for 1 month. And about $2k fine. Or was that $3k. I don't remember.

Anyways... Good Luck.

most cops dont.. its a pain in the *** to do so.. when you get a ticket like that you will be sent a nice big fat envelope with a court date... you go there and they'll see what you'll be fined for.. your probably looking at a fine, traffic school, and if you catch them on a pissed off day you'll have your license suspended for a few weeks.. your fine will probably be around $300..

i think you'll need to go to court for +26mph.. im not sure.. if not then you can just pay the bill over the internet and they'll give u an option to take traffic school which is like +$10 to original fine then you pay like $35 for traffic school, enjoy

o btw thats if ur over 18.. if you are under than.. damn your ****ed in 3 different ways

[Are you kidding, boys?!
He should of shot the PIG when he walked up to his car. It's perfect! It's all desert out there anyway, just drag his *** and bury it. They're a nuisance to society anyways.]

Speaking as one of your "PIGS", I'm always amazed at people like you. You bad mouth Peace Officers- yet you sure are happy to see us when we have to risk our lives to save your useless butt. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you never even considered the possibility that cops drive G35's as well, or read forums. I suppose that would require too much thinking on your part.

Rudeboy, I wouldn't take this situation to lightly. I highly recommend getting a lawyer. Man back in 1997 I got pulled over doing 95 in a 45. The cop was like you're lucky I'm not going to haul you off to jail right now. I went to court didn't get a lawyer, and I ended up getting 90 days 80 suspended in jail. So I spent 5 days in jail(you serve only half for good behavior). I got my license suspended for 6 months. So don't take this lightly, go with worse case scenario.

Or even better, imagine if he was driving like a normal person, and got into an accident where someone was going 140+ and hit him. He'd be screaming "Why didn't the cops stop this guy before he hurt someone" This is, of course, if he survived in the first place. If not, his family probably would sue, including naming the Highway Patrol as a defandant for not stopping the speeder.

Sometime people are idiots.

Dave

Thumbs up Dabear, that was totally uncalled for what he said . You got my respect and I think most of the people here. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. Thanks DaBear.

Thumbs down

You're lucky you're not in jail. 30 over is felony wreckless driving/felony wreckless endangerment in most states.

A friend of mine managed to get himself a 90 day stay + Fines (over 2k) + 3 month suspended for doing 101 in a 70.

Sorry.....
You can say "just kidding" all you want.......
but that is not even remotely funny. That is the sign of a SICK mind to even think that way. Get some help.

As far as the ticket goes....I'd get me a good laywer if I were you.
And slow the hell down before you kill someone. Go to a closed track to drive that fast.
