I say you just fight them and get it over w/... lol jk. If you work hard for you money you deserve every bit of your car. There are nobody to tell you what you should or shouldn't have. AND there is nothing wrong w/ being rich, unless you do it in an immoral way.
The End =D

If you can afford the car without being strained financially, who cares about what other jealous people think, regardless of your age?
Try some smartass comebacks:

-Ohh, you must make a lot of money..

COMEBACK="Not really. This car really doesn't cost any more than your car."

-I need to tell your boss you are making too much..

COMEBACK="If I was making too much, I'm pretty sure he would know about it before you."

-Wow, that on a computer tech salary??

COMEBACK="Heck yeah! You want to apply for a job like this?"

-Why did you buy that *** car?

COMEBACK="Same reason you bought yours."

-You bought a woman car...

COMEBACK="That's right! Chicks are in this car ALL THE TIME!"

-Lets drive your "fancy pancy" car...

COMEBACK="No, let's drive YOUR "fancy pancy" car."

I guess if I was in my early 20's I would probably not get a car as fancy as the G35. After I graduated from college the best car any of my bosses drove was an Infiniti I30. I would not have bought anything fancier than that just to avoid "looking bad" to collegues or bosses. But I also don't think there's anything wrong with driving something you're perfectly able to afford. If you can take the ribbing, then there's no reason to switch.

On the bright side, if you had to get rid of the G for a less "fancy" car, there are now plenty of hot rides that look like econoboxes (STi & Evo) these days.

One word...HATERS!!!! Just don't hang out, speak, and associate with people like that. Its not worth your time. Enjoy your G, don't trade it in, you work hard for it, so you deserve every joy you get out of it. I know I will. I'm also buying this car with my own money, on my own. I need a new ride as my previous one is a POS, so I will have a lot to gain with getting my G. Its the only car I will get right now, so its my dream car. If I had more money, of course I would over look the G...hehe.

$1k for a payment. Wow that is nuts!! You must be paying a crap load in interest payments or you've gotten a really short loan.

Maybe "their investment in (you) for the future" should be a remedial English course.

I think it is shallow to asume one's life (financially) is better simply because one's car is simply not considered as nice... that's just ignorance. I have a nicer car than my boss but I know that his standard of living otherwise is well above mine. A person with no-so-much may have less stress than a person who has lots of things simply because he or she may not be as strapped financially. The point is that you likely know very little about someone elses situation when you encounter them on the street. Example: I had a 1993 MX6 for ten years simply because there were no other cars that I wanted. When the G came out I decided to get it because I wanted it.

They're not going to be making those comments forever....so just wait it out, it will pass.
They have to get used to your new car, just like you do!

Oh, and IMHO the Acura TL is "in the same class". Ever sat in one? =)

If they dont or didn't make enough money at your age to afford the car then that is not your problem or something you should feel bad about. If you like then keep it, you earned it.

If you can pay for the car yourself than F them... they're probably just jealous they don't make as much money. As far as the attention the car gets, yea it does get a lot. If you don't like it then maybe you should rethink your purchase. But i for one have worked hard to afford this car and i think the attention it gets is well deserved.

The TL is a nice car but not in the same class as the G35...
Sun, i'm in the EXACT same situation. some people see me as a 22-year old with a G and think "oh he must have rich parents". fact is i absolutely love my G and who care what other people think! for quite a while i was in love with the Acura CL type S but they stopped making that, but when i saw the G all Acura thoughts flew out of my mind immediately.

Yea you should definitely dump the G and sell it to someone that can enjoy it for what it is and not worry about what strangers think...

yea, i got that BS from my coworkers all the time, and i know they talked crap about me behind my back as well. i hear it all the time "oh wow, how much you making?"..."i gotta tell the boss not to give you a raise"...and even my manager tells me "i think i'm gonna have to rethink your raise next year"...or even "well if you didn't drive such a fancy car then..." f#ck dat ****!!! i can't stand it!!! one day i got pissed and straight up told all of them at the same time "well you see, i saved money for a new car and put a nice downpayment on it. its called doing wat i please with my money. you see, i don't spend my money going on cruises all over the world(which one coworker does), i don't spend money hiking mountains or doing nature trips every month(my other co-worker), i don't spend money on collecting baseball memorabilia(another coworker), i don't spend money going all over the U.S. on fishing trips and buying expensive fishing gear(my manager). i like cars. period. i've grown up building racing motors, i've been a part of this subculture(as i whip out various Turbo and Options magazines and a Sport Compact Car that featured my bro's ride-and had a sneak-peak story about our history with cars) for over 10 years now. you can call it a hobby, kinda like how some of you do your hiking, your biking, your karate and aikido, your fishing, and your vacations. when was the last time i went on vacation? exactly. i haven't gone on vacation. i spend my money on cars, you guys spend your money on your passions and desires. just because you don't drive a nice car like me don't knock me for it. i don't whine to you guys that "oh, i wish i had money to go to greece and italy and russia in one year." or "oh i wish i made money to be able to go camping and hiking for a weekend" or "oh i wish i made money like you so i could learn to break boards with my head and hands" or "i wish i got a bigger raise so i could go on that fishing trip that i read about in Field and Stream." cars. its wat i do outside of this job. we used to own a speed shop a few years ago and built some of the area's fastest cars at the time. but time passed, and financially we couldnt keep the shop open due to break-ins and burglary. i decided to go into a more stable healthcare setting. my bro now works for a high-end customization company builiding 650hp porsches and 550hp mercedes-benzes, test drives them, and makes six-figures a year. you think i make money like that doing the same thing you guys are doin? (i laughed out loud)now if i really made good money like you guys think, then i'd have two cars, and this G would be parked in my garage and not driven everyday and i'd have another to use as a daily driver." that was the last time anyone ever said anything about me driving this car and making money.
