Ohh, you must make a lot of money..

I need to tell your boss you are making too much..

Wow, that on a computer tech salary??

Why did you buy that *** car?

You bought a woman car...

Lets drive your "fancy pancy" car...

This bull**** people give me for being young and owning this car is unbeleivable....Almost makes me want to get rid of it so I don't have to deal with people thinking I am "rich". It sucks I can't have a nice car without others getting jealous....

I usally don't give a care as to what people think, but it almost makes me feel guilty for having such a nice, flashy car....I love the car, but what I don't want is a lot of attention on me..

I was thinking the TL might make me a little less conspicous..I am one of the very few coupes in my small town, which is why I might get so much attention...

Thoughts...
Jealousy does funny things to people. Just ignore it and enjoy your G.

(i laughed out loud)now if i really made good money like you guys think, then i'd have two cars, and this G would be parked in my garage and not driven everyday and i'd have another to use as a daily driver." that was the last time anyone ever said anything about me driving this car and making money.
Damn! That's awesome!

I agree with you, Colin. I think all of us, at one time or another, has had a similar type of gesture.
My latest; Our employee parking lot now has 4 coupes. (I'll take a photo sometime.) Walking out to my car one night after work, one of our sales reps passes me and says, " It looks like you guys are breeding out there. I have a G35 too, but it's at home in the garage." Just a sarcastic idiot. I was just like, whatever. This guy would probably sell his Mom for $10, and convince you that it was a bargain.

"Take my house, take my wife,
but don't take my G35!"

i saved a whole lot of money on my own and bought my coupe in cash. im turning 24 next week so yeah people do tend to think like you are a showoff or some sort of rich kid with rich parents. i earned that money, and i am spending it the way i want. and im happy so i dont care.

another coworker of mine that makes about the same and is a year older bought a used carerra 911 convertible for like 40k for a 2000 one (yes awesome deal) and he gets it even worse.

I bought my car at the age of 21 (just turned 22) I put 10 gs down, and people i work with, who make the same amount as me, thought I was slangin'. I made 50g's last year, have a nice apartment, a hooked up 99Si(payed off when i turned 18) as a second car, 03 600rr(bought outright) as a summer toy. They just don't understand the meaning of managing money, or better yet making good investments.....

God. You don't have to tell me about jealous freaking people. I hear you so loud and clear. when i was in high school lets just say I was not in a good place. Gang banging here in California. Well my senior year rivals began to slow down and we slowed down. I had more time to think so I really looked at my life and said wow. what have i gotten out of this bs. well lets see i've lost 4 really close friends who were killed because of gang violence. I was shot at numerous times and i was stabbed twice on 2 different occasions. So make a long story short i got my act together. Studied hard. I mean hard. went to college and became a land surveyor. well i was 19 years old when i started working. so all of a sudden i went from making 6.50 and hour to 15.00 and hour now at 19 years old here in cali thats good money. so all of a sudden I have spending money picked up a new car and all of a sudden my friends were being shady talking sh.. all the time. like you are getting. then when i was 22 i was making even more money i was up to 25.00 an hour and saving a lot of money. A LOT OF MONEY. So i bought a house. well here in cali a 1600 sq ft 3 bed 2 bath average price is around 500,000 to 600,000 dollars. thats what i got a 1500 sq ft 3 bed to bath a dog, the whole nine. well my friends and peers are still living in ghetto *** apartments and run down multi family housing projects. and i'm in the new suburbs. they hated that. so not only do i not hear from the people who are suppost to be my friends but they still talk sh.. about me and my older brother is doing it too. cause his younger brother is doing so much better then he is. now i'm 24 and i make 33.00 dollars an hour and i have a whole new set of friends and a wife who i love to death. so don't worry dude the jealousy they will either get over or they were not your friends to begin with. keep impressing the ladies and those guys you see on the streets. don't worry about them cause your exactly right there just jealous and you know what i say to people who say stuff to me like they say to you. like oh is the mommies car of did your parents help you pay for that. yeah in someway they did by teaching me that if i want something i have to work for it. they just look at me and then i follow up with. so thats what i do. they always have something stupid to say like, well i wish i could buy a house or to buy a car like that. i just look at them and ask. whats stopping you. i normally leave them speechless. and the funnier thing is it's normally not peers of mine its men in the 40's. that just don't get it. money won't come to you. you have to find it.

That's awesome man...keep up the good work. I respect people who had to start from scratch.

This sounds corny and cliche, but money doesn't buy happiness. Money to me is just one less thing to worry about.

You can't, however, say I'm living a better life because I have more money.

jealousy doesnt bother me that much. If they want to think that then they are welcomed. If they ask me, I tell them all the things I have to give up to be able to pay for this car's ensurance (like not eating for 2 days straight sometimes or selling my digital camera mp3 players etc etc). After I make it clear how im not rich and how much I give up for something I love, they usually understand.

But here is where the trouble begins. I can only get to make my friends realize all this. People who hate might do something to my car. Now that is what I am worried about. So far, nothing bad. I just wish I could go to my university courses and not think something bad is going to happen to my G.

No kidding, where do you people live that people are impressed by an Infiniti? Hell, even a nicely optioned 325 is more than a G35.

It's all about disposable income. I have people who make more than me ask how I can afford this car. I ask them why they can't. I try to keep my spending, savings and lifestyle pretty balanced. If I change anything like buy a more expensive car (M3), that would throw everything out of whack. Right now, I'm satisfied driving a $40k car, living in a 1400 sq. ft. apartment, investing, putting myself through college, wearing nice clothes, money to go out once and awhile and of course money for modding Keep your finances balanced and only "step up" when your income goes up.

It's all because of the G's looks. Most people probably don't even know it's an Infiniti, but it simply looks so freaking hot.

I think you're exactly right.

When I had the recent car accident with the deer, the insurance adjustor came out to the body shop, gave me more money than I needed, and wrote 2 checks on the spot. (One for the damages and one for the c-bra). I was surprised because the body shop owner pulled me to the side and told me that he would be able to do the whole job, plus paint my side mirrors and I could keep the deductible.

Right before the insurance adjustor left, he asked me... "So what did you pay for that car? $60,000? $70,000?" I simply answered and said, (loosely paraphrased) "I got a little bit better deal than that".

Later on I realized that he thought $6,350 for the damage I had was NOTHING compared to the cost of the car and it was HIS JOB to know how much my car was new.

Why is a computer tech considered a low salary occupation? I make 75K a year as a network admin and bought my car without finacing.
