Price Increase Coming For '05 Auto Coupe & Sedan
For those considering buying an '05 auto coupe or sedan, you might want to do it soon or wait until after the first quarter is over. The following is from Danny Fields, a general manager at Grubbs............
You are about to see automatic coupes and sedans get very expensive. There is a shortage of trannys from the vendor and automatic production is being cut dramatically. 6MTs will become more readily available for the next couple of months.
The shortage is due to M35/M45 production startup.
The new M is projected at 24000 units for the first 12 months. The problem is the ramping up process where a large number of trannys must be shipped during a short period of time and the vendor only has so much production capability.
They will build in excess of 2000 M's per month to start, which is 10 times more than Q and M combined now, while at the same time continuing to build G sedan and coupe. After the ramp up flattens out (end of 1st qtr) the flow will get back to normal.

Why would the price of auto G35's go up because of this shortage? If the inventory gets lean, the dealer may want to sell them for higher than average prices, but I would fight it. That's Infiniti's problem, not the buyer's.
Wells, the price increase is official, since its on the Infiniti website now, I think as of just a few (1-2) days ago only. This price increase comes as a time where I'm just about to get my car. Which sucks!!! I just hope the dealership would respect the fact that my car is suppose to be here right now, before the official increase. I noticed that the MSRPs on vehicles that the dealerships have in stock are still under the old MSRP. So I guess thats a good thing. Go HERE for more details on the current pricing for the coupes. As for more price increases, not to sure about this, all I know is that I'm getting my within this month so good luck everybody

It turns out the price increase is only $150, which I do not think makes the cars "very expensive" as Danny from Grubbs described. That amounts to only a 0.5% price increase.
