Mentalities at other forums?

Check out this thread over at E46fanatics, some people just amaze me! I don't want to bash BMW owners, I am one myself, but the flaming is just stupid and I hate it when people talk out of their a$%! You will notice me responding in the thread, I am seriously about done with that forum! They have a true hatred for G35 owners, why I am not sure, I am neutral to all brands myself!@

WOW...well, a 325i is not a 330 but I can say that after driving this car (05 G35C) for two weeks, I am impressed and very pleased. I agree with what you stated over there and believe it is an individual choice. For me...I did not get much from my 325i so out it went. Thanks for sharing.

For many of the same reasons they bought their 330i's, I bought the G35.

Don't forget, in 2001 and 2002 there was no G35, so the 330i would have been my choice for a car at or under $40K.

In 2004 when I was shopping for a new car, I took out the 330i, M3, TL and G35C-6MT. I immediately narrowed it down to the E46-M3. I didn't get the M3, but money was not the issue... after my wife had her say "we" had it narrowed down to the M3 and the G35. After thinking about my future sex life, and the fact that my wife would have to actually drive my car at times, the G35 just made more sense. The 330 was not even in the picture. It was too pricey when compared to the G, felt slow (but tight), interior simply didn't match (brown/black/brown/black, nice transition... uuhhh right), maintainance after 50K would be expensive, reliability issues, etc... Plus the BMW dealership in Orlando is a joke! Everytime I pass a 330 on the road I think, nice car. Everytime I pass a G35 coupe on the road I think "NICE CAR!"

I agree- that thread was much tamer than what I was expecting to see!

Incredible how they argue over there. There is one saying that he has a friend that drives a 330 auto that beat a g35 sedan... well based on that alone he concludes 330 is faster? What an *** he is. Cars are not driven by themselves, if the driver drives poorly well thats not the car's fault. I love BMW's, in fact, they are my favorite brand. Truth is, BMW 330 does have a better interior and better feel, but G35 is faster. This is something obvious.

I wonder if this will beat the M3

I don't know. That thread was pretty tame except for the one guy. Anyway, I am one of those people that went from a 330 to G35. Had the 2001 for about 4 years and more than its share of problems including a blown engine at 18000 miles. NO WAY was I owning that car out of warranty. IMO the 05 G is every bit the car that the 330 was. Perhaps not quite as tossable in the twisties but still feels darn good. Feels faster in day to day driving and has more room to boot. Very happy with this car vs another BMW or any of the other choices in the class (and I drove them all more than once).

Haha that one guy claimed the VQ was built to handle FI.... Thats just funny considering the weak rods, un-forged internals, and 10.3:1 compression ratio!

"Cockyness" goes up with price. People will always hate whether they have less or have more than you, thats life.

People who will never have a G35, BMW, etc.. are hating based on jealousy.
People who have more than you hate because they are "on top" in the food chain. F'em all.

All I have to do is remember BMWs countless recalls on the 3series especially the M3's engine! HAHAHA...makes me feel that much better.

That's a shame that people have to act that way.... Wouldn't it be nice if we could all respect each other and admire our rides......
Oh well, eventually the G's will grow on them, and kudos to the Bimmer owners who have mutual respect.

I agree with the others, it was a pretty tame thread. Actually I think that most of them were pretty respectful of our cars, just like we respect theirs. As many have stated on both forums, we bought the cars we have for a reason and they are all good.

Except for the guy who thinks you're going to die by hitting your head on the rear window in a crash , they seem like pretty good people.
