Best suspension for the best ride?

My '06 coupe is stock height and Id like to lower it just a bit. Was wondering what brands of springs and whatnot to go for and what to avoid?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I looked in the suspension area but Im so new to customizing cars that I really dont understand most of what is listed.

Ride quality is rather subjective. If you have friends that mod cars, take rides in some of their setups if you can to get an idea (different cars react differently but it gives you an idea).

As far as options, they are (in order of $$$):
1) springs
2) coilovers
3) cup kit
4) bags

Your suspension is going to depend on budget. springs have the least adjustability but are the cheapest. Coilovers, cup kits, and bags are all adjustable. Coilovers while they allow adjustability, it's not on the fly. Cup kits and bags can mover your height at the touch of button...but you pay for that convenience.

springs:

coilovers (spring over strut..from here up, you're replacing your suspension)

cup kit

air bags:

That's what everything looks like (generically). You gotta do a bit of research and learn what each thing does to find what fits your needs/wants tho.

I have a few friends that are into mini trucks on air bags so I know a little about that, but didnt think that would really be a good idea for a sports car...I could be wrong though.

I guess what Im wanting is maybe to lower the car an inch or two at most. Mainly just to take out the wheel gap, but Id also like it to keep more of a performance ride for cornering and such. Ive heard coil overs are a pain to install/adjust and that they can "pop" from time to time. Never heard of cup kits though. Ill have to do a little research like you suggested.

Thanks for the help man.

Best suspension for the best ride would be to leave it the way Nissan designed it, that was your question. Best mod for our suspensions w/b BC coilovers and a complete SPL camber kit bringing your alignment back to OE specs....Gary

2 inches is a pretty big drop. Pretty sure it decreases the performance no matter what unless you get roll center adjusters.

I've had experience with Tein basic coilovers (not on a G) but I had them on my 04 accord for 2 years and I loved them.

They were very comfortable, and a lot more aggressive in conners than stock.

Heres my old cardomain site that has a few pics of it. And like driftsucky said coilovers are adjustable so you can set it at the height you want which was a big seller for me.

+1 for Teins being comfy. Ran those for a while and I liked them.

Do you have the sport package.. if not I am sure you could find one cheap
and it will drop your ride a bit but it will be a stiffer ride.

Coil overs will be much more stiff as if you drop 2" you will need a stiffer spring
so you will not bottom out.

For a good ride stay with oem parts..

Tein Flex's are great. Had them for my RSX. Adjustable dampers for ride quality. Will also be getting this for my G or an HKS Hipermax....

From what I am reading, it seems like coil overs are the only way to go.... I'm just not sure I can justify spending that kind of cash to lower it 1-1.5 inches....

If I buy springs, I will need to get a camber kit, right?

I think the best oem like ride would be tokico shocks with Tein S springs. Should give you a 1inch drop with a ride that will keep you comfortable in the streets and corners.

I would say coil overs if you want to do more track days.
